Last night, ABC unveiled their much-anticipated new TV show, No Ordinary Family. Were the ratings heroic or will the family and their adventures soon be cancelled?
No Ordinary Family revolves around the Powell family who, while on vacation, crash into Amazon River and gain special abilities. The new show stars Michael Chiklis, Julie Benz, Autumn Reeser, Jimmy Bennett, Kay Panabaker, Tate Donovan, Christina Chang, and Romany Malco.

According to the Nielsen ratings, No Ordinary Family attracted a 3.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 10.69 million total viewers. For the timeslot, it ranked in second place in both categories.
Considering that it aired opposite a hit show like NCIS: Los Angeles (which had a 3.7 rating and 16.51 million viewers), No Ordinary Family had a very good debut.
We’ll have a better idea about the show’s future in the next couple weeks as we see if the show’s audience grows or significantly shrinks. For now it looks to be in really good shape.
So, what do you think? Did you tune in to see the first episode of No Ordinary Family?
Will you watch next week? Cancel or keep it?

Dear No Ordinary Family,
I LOVE THE SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IF THIS SHOW WAS CANCELED, MY LIFE IS THEN A MESS….='(
sooo……. please do not cancel it!
As someone once told me- Misfits is a better show. It’ll make you forget about No Ordinary Family. It’s THAT good!
I hope this show returns.
I swear if ABC cancels this show i’m going to be livid! This is the best show ever!!!
Good family show. It’s suits the macho guy well. It fits for the empowerment of women. It stands up for the wallflower teenage boy and girl. The special effects of the lazer light show depicting the boy’s super-powers of intellegeance are getting old fast. Here’s an idea… have the family get involved in something as a group. For example, they could go to church together. That might show a connection between their superpowers and a higher being. Maybe they could look to God for answers and not rely on science so much. That might go against the grain for ABC,… Read more »
Quick Facts –>

LOVE IT! I normally don’t watch TV and I found this show on Hulu.com…come on, let’s have a little sense of humor people. Have a blast in life! Laugh and your life will change!
Love the cast(except for the ugly asian dude)the writers need to be fired..love the concept, but the writing is SOOOOO predictable,as with most Disney productions..I hope the show doesn’t get cancelled, just put more imagination in the scripts..
This show is great. We needed it a family show like this one”No ordinary family”. I love the drama, has science fiction, potrays that a husband and wife can raise a family with unusual powers and still love each other. Their relantionship is very impresive and encourages marriages. I and my family we look forward to seen it “No ordinary family every Tuesday evening. This show is perfect for the time that we living in. Please Don’t cancel the show.
Thank you,
A mother
Love this show. We can sit down as family and watch it as a family. It is great family night.
It’s about time we get a series that is as well balanced as “No Ordinary Family”. As Mr. Neuman pointed out, perhaps it isn’t the most realistic series in the lineups, but that is the very thing that gives this series its charm. If I wanted realism oozing out of every nook and cranny, I’d tune in to some reality show (and even those don’t seem very realistic). But, for entertainment purposes, “No Ordinary Family” delivers with super-human strength!
Kind of lacks originality, both in the concept and the realisation. Won’t be following it for long, even if it survives the ratings battle.
