The Powells may have super powers but they weren’t strong enough to save their TV series. No Ordinary Family has been cancelled after one season on the air.
No Ordinary Family revolves around suburban family who, while on vacation, crash into Amazon River and gain special abilities. The cast includes Michael Chiklis, Julie Benz, Autumn Reeser, Jimmy Bennett, Kay Panabaker, Tate Donovan, Christina Chang, and Romany Malco.
The drama had a decent debut last September with a 3.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 10.69 million total viewers. Unfortunately, the ratings didn’t stay at that level and dropped by 16% in week two and then 15% in week three. The numbers kept declining and went as low as a 1.2 demo rating and just 4.26 million viewers in March.

The network cut the episode order but it was already clear by that point that the show was finished. ABC pre-empted one installment and bumped the penultimate episode to Saturday nights, an evening when few are watching. The first season of No Ordinary Family ended up averaging a 1.8 in the demo and 6.4 million viewers, making it one of the lowest dramas of the ABC season.
ABC has now officially cancelled No Ordinary Family. All 20 episodes have aired. Hopefully, at some point, the producers will share what they had planned for the future of the series.

I thought this show was much better than most of the crap on tv. Probably would have been a successful series if ABC didn’t get their hands on it. They’ve been the “generic” version of a tv station for far too many years. Very curious what would have happened with a successful network backing them
I really like the season but I would like to see what George can do and if he helps them fight the 80 criminal’s

To those who made the show possible, I hope you see this. You mentioned that the numbers kept declining, but at the time tv shows were ordinary, they had no special effects or weird and wonderful. Now we have shows about kids being wolves (Teen Wolf), vampires (Vampire Diaries) and all other kinds of supernatural beings. I am a boy from Nepal and I stayed up late just to watch this show. I really loved it. I am still waiting for the season two. Its been more than 3 years. Wish they would put up season 2

No ordinary family was a great show, it still could be an even better show. People who did watch the show loved it and were expecting a season 2, seen as it was left on a clif hanger, with the government needing the Powell family’s help. I think that all the people who did watch this great show would love to see what challenges the Powell has to face with the new super villains, in an all new season two.

I loved no ordinary family, I wished you could have aired season two or put season two on DVD. Make some changes and try to re-air it, do something.

It was a bit slow going at first, but got a lot more interesting as the shows progressed. I think they should of carried on the the next season as the Government were just going to get involved with the family! I think they were wrong to pull the plug after only the one season 🙁
