Are you a fan of Outsiders? WGN America just cancelled the TV series after two seasons. What do you think? Do you think it should have been renewed? Would you watch a third season on another channel?
Airing on Tuesday nights, the Outsiders drama follows the Farrell clan, a tight-knit family who reside in the rugged hills of Appalachia and come into conflict with the surrounding population. The cast includes David Morse, Thomas M. Wright, Ryan Hurst, Joe Anderson, Gillian Alexy, Kyle Gallner, Christina Jackson, Francie Swift, and Phyllis Somerville.
Ratings have never been great for Outsiders, but it’s been one of the highest-rated original scripted shows on WGN America. Currently, season two is averaging a 0.21 rating in the 18-49 demo and 780,000 viewers — down by 26% in the demo when compared to the first season. Now, it seems that the upcoming season two finale, scheduled for April 25th, will also serve as the series finale.
Or, will it? Sony Pictures Television is reportedly shopping a third season of Outsiders to other outlets. The show’s ratings wouldn’t seem to be a strong selling point but, these days, you never know.

WGN just shot themselves in the foot by cancelling the Outsiders. It was the one show my husband and I bonded over and truly enjoyed together. I know lots of people that rallied around this show and the social messages it put out. By cancelling this show I probably will have no reason to watch your station again. How stupid do you have to be to not see this show as the WINNER it is? SHAME ON YOU, WGN.

Yes, we would watch Outsiders on another channel. This is the only drama on TV we find interesting. It’s well written, well acted, and unique. Please keep it going.
