Are you a fan of Outsiders? WGN America just cancelled the TV series after two seasons. What do you think? Do you think it should have been renewed? Would you watch a third season on another channel?
Airing on Tuesday nights, the Outsiders drama follows the Farrell clan, a tight-knit family who reside in the rugged hills of Appalachia and come into conflict with the surrounding population. The cast includes David Morse, Thomas M. Wright, Ryan Hurst, Joe Anderson, Gillian Alexy, Kyle Gallner, Christina Jackson, Francie Swift, and Phyllis Somerville.
Ratings have never been great for Outsiders, but it’s been one of the highest-rated original scripted shows on WGN America. Currently, season two is averaging a 0.21 rating in the 18-49 demo and 780,000 viewers — down by 26% in the demo when compared to the first season. Now, it seems that the upcoming season two finale, scheduled for April 25th, will also serve as the series finale.
Or, will it? Sony Pictures Television is reportedly shopping a third season of Outsiders to other outlets. The show’s ratings wouldn’t seem to be a strong selling point but, these days, you never know.

Please don’t cancel this show. Maybe if you didn’t wait a whole year between seasons you may have better ratings. Also WGN was off the air on Dish network for several months. I will watch this on any channel!

My wife and I are avid followers of The Outsiders. To lose the option of a 3rd season would be devastating. Never watched WGN before this and if the series is cancelled, certainly won’t watch it again. At least have the decency to allow the 3rd season to at least button up the characters, too many good actors to just shut it down.

Please continue this series. It is very well done..if nothing else please conclude the story line with a season 3 and if need be after that cancel it. But my husband and I are loyal followers of the series. Very upsetting not to conclude it with a proper ending.
