Discovery Communication’s Velocity, a cable network for men who love cars, airs its world premiere of the final season of Overhaulin‘, November 4 at 9 PM ET/PT. Overhaulin’, hosted by Chip Foose, will air four final episodes, before series end. While no one is saying the show is cancelled, the press release makes it clear that Overhaulin’ is driving to its final destination — a TV series finale. For fans, there is little difference between an ending and an official cancellation.
The four-episode season nine kicks off with special guests Johnny Depp and Amber Heard (and her 1968 red Ford Mustang) appearing in the season nine premiere, and once more, before the series finale.

Velocity Says Goodbye to Iconic Automotive Series OVERHAULIN’ With Star-Studded Final Episodes
Hollywood Stars Johnny Depp and Amber Heard Star in the First of Four Final Episodes Beginning Wednesday, November 4 at 9 PM ET/PT Only on Velocity
This November, Velocity is taking OVERHAULIN’, the series that embodies the emotional connection between man and machine, for one last ride. As the series makes its way into the garage one final time, Velocity is celebrating the undeniable legacy of OVERHAULIN’ with four all-new episodes, two of which feature movie stars Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, and retired U.S. Navy SEAL and “Lone Survivor” co-author Marcus Luttrell. Additionally, Velocity is dipping into series history with a special “Say It Ain’t OVERHAULIN’” marathon that counts down fans’ 20 favorite episodes since the franchise began in 2004.
“OVERHAULIN’ has left an indelible mark on television audiences and car culture over the past 11 years,” said Robert Scanlon, General Manager of Velocity and Automotive Content. “Chip Foose and his team have made so many dreams come true, creating unforgettable cars and TV moments. We’re sad to see the series come to a close, but as car lovers we’re excited to appreciate the beauty of Chip’s creations and the powerful legacy of OVERHAULIN’ from afar.”
Since 2004 OVERHAULIN’ has changed the lives of more than 100 car owners by transforming their beloved but rundown rides. Through the years countless family members and friends have surprised their deserving loved ones with the amazing imagination of renowned car designer Chip Foose, the cunning of co-host Chris Jacobs and the hard work of the A-Team that have defined the OVERHAULIN’ franchise.
In the first of the final four episodes, Academy Award nominee Johnny Depp enlists the help of Foose, Jacobs, co-hosts Arianny Celeste and Adrienne Janic, and the A-Team to overhaul his wife’s beloved 1967 Ford Mustang. For more than a decade, Depp’s wife, Amber Heard, has cherished the ’68 Mustang. Since then the car has been stolen twice and fallen into disrepair. With guidance from Heard’s father, Depp turns to Foose and the team to surprise Amber with a Mustang that’s been brought back to life with the classic OVERHAULIN’ touch. New episodes of OVERHAULIN’ world premiere on Velocity Wednesday, November 4 at 9 PM ET/PT.
In addition to the final episodes Velocity is taking a ride down memory lane with “Say It Ain’t OVERHAULIN’”, a two day marathon of viewers’ favorite episodes on Saturday, November 14 and Sunday, November 15 beginning at 2 PM ET/PT. Audiences will enjoy the top 20 highest-rated episodes of the series that reach back as far as 2004 for an episode featuring a 1952 GMC Truck, as well as deserving builds of a 1964 Impala from season three, a 1970 El Camino from season six, a classic 1957 Corvette and much more.

What do you think? Did you watch Velocity’s show, Overhaulin’? Would you have watched a tenth season?
Yes I would watch abother season of overhauling I watch the reruns now so yeah I would watch new ones. The show was so good I have my own cars and used some of chips ideas in my own cars thanks chip I wish the show was staying on Im going to miss it big time sorry to see it go. If there is any chance to renew the show please do so thanks for all the years miss you all
Paul
Yes, I would continue to watch. Chip appeared to be a very talented man and I enjoyed what he came up with to make each car a one of a kind. I would like to see him back doing late model trucks. That would be conpletely diffetent from the othet shows that work only on older cars and trucks. I have a 2015 GMC double cab Sierra and know he could do a fantastic job.
I am so sorry to here about Overhaulin being canceled I have just recently discovered it along with my husband. I would have loved to see more episodes. Chip Foose is so amazing at taking a worn out, tired car and making it into a vehicle that is better than the original. I was going to turn in my husbands truck to be Overhauled. He has had it since he was 16. He restored it as best he could at that age, but about 25 years ago he wanted to do a frame up restoration. However, it is still in… Read more »
Out of everything on these chanels i am mortified that an amazing show like Overhaulin is over. Chip Foose is the Albert Einstein of motoring. The whole substance of the tv show is super cool with the team taking peoples cars to to The A Team who create the piece of art that Chip Foose can forsee in his designs is just magical. And i cant forget Chris Jacobs who is a master of disguise and extremely talented as well.
I know i am not alone in saying that tv will not be the same without Overhaulin !!!
Of course I would. The only show worth watching now is Gold Rush.I just don’t like the manufactured droma on Gold rush.Overhalin was my all time favorite. No droma and the Car or truck was the star.If it were anounst that overhalin was to come back you would here a rebound yes yes.If I may make a suggestion.play 3 or 4 episodes of the old show with a advertised new show at 9:00.I see I think anyway you do that with gold rush and I love it.you could do that with Monster Garage,Biker Build Off and american Chopper.Kind of like Steak and… Read more »
I don’t have many Heroes, But a few episodes in I was hooked. I don’t know what Chip was paid, but I’m sure it wasn’t enough. You can see his heart go into these projects and the rest of the A-team followed suite. He truly cares! Before the reveal I always tell myself I’m not tearing up! But seeing the persons face and then Chips response I can never hold it in. I was always amazed by the skill of the group and I’m a high end architectural/metalsmith with 30+ years experence. The only thing that would have been better… Read more »
I can’t believe overhauling is at an end , I love thE show its amazing to see the transformation and quality of workman’s hip of the guys involved in each project. I have always dreamed of seeing my Mercedes on you’re show to see what you could do with it . I’m from Wales in great Britain and will be sorry to see the show end . Chip fooze is amazing and I wish him all the best for the future.
It’s a shame it was canceled it was my favorite show… There was other shows that should have canceled other than Overhaulin. It’s not fair…
I agree, there are other shows that should have cancelled! Overhaulin was the first and only show that I enjoyed watching with my husband. It always made my eyes well up with tears!!! Joyful tears!!! It’s nice to see on tv something heartfelt instead of all the crap!!! I wish it was still on because I know a lady that owns a 1979 silver anniversary Trans Am. Talk about a great reason to help someone, she just lost her husband of 18 years September 2015, her father died last month and her favorite dog the day before! Her 10yr old… Read more »
This was one of our favorite shows. Would even prefer watching reruns over the junk that is on many channels. The “A” team really put their hearts and souls into everything they did. And Chip has a heart of gold. I would tear up whenever he got emotional with a lucky vehicle owner. The producers should hang their heads in shame. Please bring Overhaulin’ back.
Aah man! I didn’t realize this fabulous show was cancelled! My son’s Chevy Tahoe with over 200,000 miles is a mess! Going through rough times. Oh well.. Is what it is..
It’s a shame it was canceled it was my favorite show. There was other shows that should have canceled other than Overhaulin.
Sad to see this show leave. So many people were touched by good people. My husband would of been a great candidate. He always puts everyone needs before his own. He has a 1970 Chevelle that’s been sitting for a long time a a friends house which the friend is termally ill. It’s all there just needs to be put together. I hope someday by the grace of God it will get finished so Mike can be finally rewarded for all the nice things he has done for me and my family and his. Hope to see this show come… Read more »
I can’t believe Overhaulin ended. While I know every TV show has an ending I would have loved to see it go on for at least a couple of more years. Overhauling was an awesome show.
Best show on this channel by far. Very sad to hear
it will be no more. Does Chip still have a shop in CA? I hope you bring it back as they certainly did the best work of all the shows on TV when it comes to restoring.ventage cars.
I can’t believe they canceled Overhauln. It was my favorite show. Watching Chip and the A team transform those cars were amazing. I’ve owned over 200 cars and I was hoping that my first car that I owned for 35 years would have gotten into Chip’s hands. It was a ’62 Volvo Pv 544. Unfortunately I lived on the East coast and knew I probably would never get on the show, I did however sell it to a man 5 years ago and he is doing a complete restoration on the car and should be ready this summer. I sure… Read more »
