Discovery Communication’s Velocity, a cable network for men who love cars, airs its world premiere of the final season of Overhaulin‘, November 4 at 9 PM ET/PT. Overhaulin’, hosted by Chip Foose, will air four final episodes, before series end. While no one is saying the show is cancelled, the press release makes it clear that Overhaulin’ is driving to its final destination — a TV series finale. For fans, there is little difference between an ending and an official cancellation.
The four-episode season nine kicks off with special guests Johnny Depp and Amber Heard (and her 1968 red Ford Mustang) appearing in the season nine premiere, and once more, before the series finale.

Velocity Says Goodbye to Iconic Automotive Series OVERHAULIN’ With Star-Studded Final Episodes
Hollywood Stars Johnny Depp and Amber Heard Star in the First of Four Final Episodes Beginning Wednesday, November 4 at 9 PM ET/PT Only on Velocity
This November, Velocity is taking OVERHAULIN’, the series that embodies the emotional connection between man and machine, for one last ride. As the series makes its way into the garage one final time, Velocity is celebrating the undeniable legacy of OVERHAULIN’ with four all-new episodes, two of which feature movie stars Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, and retired U.S. Navy SEAL and “Lone Survivor” co-author Marcus Luttrell. Additionally, Velocity is dipping into series history with a special “Say It Ain’t OVERHAULIN’” marathon that counts down fans’ 20 favorite episodes since the franchise began in 2004.
“OVERHAULIN’ has left an indelible mark on television audiences and car culture over the past 11 years,” said Robert Scanlon, General Manager of Velocity and Automotive Content. “Chip Foose and his team have made so many dreams come true, creating unforgettable cars and TV moments. We’re sad to see the series come to a close, but as car lovers we’re excited to appreciate the beauty of Chip’s creations and the powerful legacy of OVERHAULIN’ from afar.”
Since 2004 OVERHAULIN’ has changed the lives of more than 100 car owners by transforming their beloved but rundown rides. Through the years countless family members and friends have surprised their deserving loved ones with the amazing imagination of renowned car designer Chip Foose, the cunning of co-host Chris Jacobs and the hard work of the A-Team that have defined the OVERHAULIN’ franchise.
In the first of the final four episodes, Academy Award nominee Johnny Depp enlists the help of Foose, Jacobs, co-hosts Arianny Celeste and Adrienne Janic, and the A-Team to overhaul his wife’s beloved 1967 Ford Mustang. For more than a decade, Depp’s wife, Amber Heard, has cherished the ’68 Mustang. Since then the car has been stolen twice and fallen into disrepair. With guidance from Heard’s father, Depp turns to Foose and the team to surprise Amber with a Mustang that’s been brought back to life with the classic OVERHAULIN’ touch. New episodes of OVERHAULIN’ world premiere on Velocity Wednesday, November 4 at 9 PM ET/PT.
In addition to the final episodes Velocity is taking a ride down memory lane with “Say It Ain’t OVERHAULIN’”, a two day marathon of viewers’ favorite episodes on Saturday, November 14 and Sunday, November 15 beginning at 2 PM ET/PT. Audiences will enjoy the top 20 highest-rated episodes of the series that reach back as far as 2004 for an episode featuring a 1952 GMC Truck, as well as deserving builds of a 1964 Impala from season three, a 1970 El Camino from season six, a classic 1957 Corvette and much more.

What do you think? Did you watch Velocity’s show, Overhaulin’? Would you have watched a tenth season?
While I’m sad to see the Overhaulin’ team call it quits, I just found out that my Wife of 35 years and was taken from us in a car crash in January of 2014, had nominated my 77 Corvette back in 2009. I’ve now been told by a close friend of hers. After she heard of the finale, she informed me of my nomination. even now, rerun episodes bring tears to my eyes whenever the “Mark” gets their cars reveled. I would love to see Chip’s Son continue the tradition of making people’s dreams come true by starting a new… Read more »
This show has brought tears to my eyes. They have helped people with so many cars and I am really sorry to see it go. Maybe there will be some re-runs I haven’t had a chance to see. Sure wish there was a chance to save it as it is my favorite show.
I loved the show and kept dreaming my “pink panther” would get nominated someday. It would have been one incredible makeover! Hate to see the show go but I will be watching the last episode. Hope you change your minds and bring it back soon.
Loved this show! Will miss it. My fiancé and I both are disappointed to see it go
Why good shows like this with wide appeal and good numbers gets cancelled with no explanation why, is beyond me. I would watch a 10th, 11th seasons and more. You are making a mistake ending this series
Please leave the show on the air. My husband and I enjoy watching a show together we both enjoy.
Love this show! Can’t believe that it would be canceled.
I’m shocked this is the end of the series. There are several car restoration shows but Overhaulin is the best. The focus is on the car, quality workmanship and the human interest of the car owner…not on the stupid antics or angry emotions of the cast. This is a sad time for men who don’t have many opportunities to express real emotions with each other except through the love of mechanical beauty. A tip of the cap to Chip Foose and the A team. Thanks for the memories.
I would have loved to get my car overhualed or at least see a car close to me overhualed by the A team, but i guess ill settle for the repeats on tv,please velosity channle give us fans another few seasons pleeeaaasse …..
Makes justni sense to cancel this show. Chip and his team, did so much good and have a family a great gift each show. But SHOULD HAVE FIGURED….IF its a show that really does good or is REALLY LIKED & ENJOYED…. IT NEEDS to be canceled!! Makes sense right?…..NOT! WAY TO GO VELOCITY!
Ya’ll don’t need to cancel overhaulin cause I love this show. Ya’ll need to bring this show back please. Please don’t cancel it
I have been watching Overhaulin for years. This is THE only show on my cable that I truly and really enjoy watching, bar none. I would like to know the real reason for taking this show off? Was it “burn out ” of the cast?, Financial challenges?, from reading other post, doesn’t look like lack of viewership or enthusiasm. This was truly a great show, sad to see it cancelled. Would had love to had my car overhauled that I have owned for the last 38yrs., Oh well.
I would have watched a 10th year a 11th year etc. Was the founder of car shows and the best. Say it ain’t so. Come back overhaulin
Very sorry to hear this is the last season for Overhaulin , would like to
see it continue on for many more !
I have never seen so many young people taking interest in the restoration of muscle era and classic cars. They actually turn of the computer games and delight in the fascinating and awesome restorations that Overhauling has featured. I Can think of many other programs that should go away. Overhauling is not one of them. I would like to see the performance and aftermarket companies weigh in on this one. It’s programs like Overhauling and people like Chip, Chris and the A team that I believe promote the success of these companies and bring a wholesome grade of entertainment to… Read more »
