Discovery Communication’s Velocity, a cable network for men who love cars, airs its world premiere of the final season of Overhaulin‘, November 4 at 9 PM ET/PT. Overhaulin’, hosted by Chip Foose, will air four final episodes, before series end. While no one is saying the show is cancelled, the press release makes it clear that Overhaulin’ is driving to its final destination — a TV series finale. For fans, there is little difference between an ending and an official cancellation.
The four-episode season nine kicks off with special guests Johnny Depp and Amber Heard (and her 1968 red Ford Mustang) appearing in the season nine premiere, and once more, before the series finale.

Velocity Says Goodbye to Iconic Automotive Series OVERHAULIN’ With Star-Studded Final Episodes
Hollywood Stars Johnny Depp and Amber Heard Star in the First of Four Final Episodes Beginning Wednesday, November 4 at 9 PM ET/PT Only on Velocity
This November, Velocity is taking OVERHAULIN’, the series that embodies the emotional connection between man and machine, for one last ride. As the series makes its way into the garage one final time, Velocity is celebrating the undeniable legacy of OVERHAULIN’ with four all-new episodes, two of which feature movie stars Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, and retired U.S. Navy SEAL and “Lone Survivor” co-author Marcus Luttrell. Additionally, Velocity is dipping into series history with a special “Say It Ain’t OVERHAULIN’” marathon that counts down fans’ 20 favorite episodes since the franchise began in 2004.
“OVERHAULIN’ has left an indelible mark on television audiences and car culture over the past 11 years,” said Robert Scanlon, General Manager of Velocity and Automotive Content. “Chip Foose and his team have made so many dreams come true, creating unforgettable cars and TV moments. We’re sad to see the series come to a close, but as car lovers we’re excited to appreciate the beauty of Chip’s creations and the powerful legacy of OVERHAULIN’ from afar.”
Since 2004 OVERHAULIN’ has changed the lives of more than 100 car owners by transforming their beloved but rundown rides. Through the years countless family members and friends have surprised their deserving loved ones with the amazing imagination of renowned car designer Chip Foose, the cunning of co-host Chris Jacobs and the hard work of the A-Team that have defined the OVERHAULIN’ franchise.
In the first of the final four episodes, Academy Award nominee Johnny Depp enlists the help of Foose, Jacobs, co-hosts Arianny Celeste and Adrienne Janic, and the A-Team to overhaul his wife’s beloved 1967 Ford Mustang. For more than a decade, Depp’s wife, Amber Heard, has cherished the ’68 Mustang. Since then the car has been stolen twice and fallen into disrepair. With guidance from Heard’s father, Depp turns to Foose and the team to surprise Amber with a Mustang that’s been brought back to life with the classic OVERHAULIN’ touch. New episodes of OVERHAULIN’ world premiere on Velocity Wednesday, November 4 at 9 PM ET/PT.
In addition to the final episodes Velocity is taking a ride down memory lane with “Say It Ain’t OVERHAULIN’”, a two day marathon of viewers’ favorite episodes on Saturday, November 14 and Sunday, November 15 beginning at 2 PM ET/PT. Audiences will enjoy the top 20 highest-rated episodes of the series that reach back as far as 2004 for an episode featuring a 1952 GMC Truck, as well as deserving builds of a 1964 Impala from season three, a 1970 El Camino from season six, a classic 1957 Corvette and much more.

What do you think? Did you watch Velocity’s show, Overhaulin’? Would you have watched a tenth season?
This is crazy. This is the best car show out there. I can’t believe they want to cancel it. I’m hoping that another network will pick them up. That does happen sometimes.
Why are they taking overhauling off its the best show on velocity
Heartbroken on The final episode. Always looked forward to watching Overhauling. So much talent ,knowledge and inspiration in Overhauling.
Overhaulin’ has been a favorite show of ours for years. We can’t believe they are leaving. Sad day in our house. Chip Foose and crew are wonderful. Unless this was his idea someone is making a huge mistake!!
I’ve been a big fan of the Overhaulin’ series and a little envious and happy for those chosen to have their rides Fossafied. I worked in the automotive business as a custom clutch rebuilder for 23 yrs and been around alot if people who are also passionate about custom work. Sorry to see the series end, thank you Mr. Fosse and the A-team for a Great ride.
Unfortunately TV networks only pretend to care what we like. Like sports its all about the money. They will fill the time with some cheaper piece of crap. There’s only one OVERHAULIN.
This is just wrong. Its a great show in so many levels. And A.J. should have stayed!
This is terrible! My whole family loves this show and the values that it is based on. I can’t believe that it’s being cancelled. It seems like the greatest shows are getting the axe lately while shows that don’t matter stay on the air forever. I and my family would have LOVED a season 10 and would have continued to watch this show for many more seasons to come. I’d beg the network to reconsider, but I know it would do no good so I’ll just mourn in silence. Thanks for nothing Velocity!
Sad to see Chip and his team leaving. This is one of the few shows my husband an I enjoyed together. And I learned about cars !
I watch a lot of the shows on velocity however my favorite is Overhaulin and I am sorely disappointed that you’re cancelling it. Please reconsider your decision
Shame on velocity for cancelling this great show.
Overhaulin 2004-2008, 2012-2015 r.i.p.
I am beyond disappointed at this news. I have enjoyed Overhaulin over the years, and I was looking forward to another great season. Four shows does NOT a season make. I have no reason to watch Velocity any longer, and will instead cure my auto-build addiction by watching Jay Leno’s Garage on Wednesday nights. I know that, should I ever get enough money for a custom car, Chip Foose will be the one I search out. He is, hands down, the best in the business.
What many of you fail to realise, is that this kind of building one off show cars puts an incredible strain on the A-©team + there family life!…..these builds take an incredible amount of planning, …great sponsor suttpport,….and incredible sacrifices from chip + the team. If you have ever tried to build or succeed ed in building anything close to these caliber of vehicles, you would know how difficult thresholds really are!……What Chip Foose has created here will never be duplicated! …..plus..Chip is smart enuff to know that if he creates too many of these awesome machines, they will not… Read more »
Wow…..What you fail to realize is that the comments that you deem negative are not directed to Chip or the A Team; they are directed to the upper crust of Velocity. You are entitled to your opinion, as the rest of us, so please do not attempt to speak for all. As a side note, you may want to utilize a spell checker in the future. Cheers.
Why? Why? Why cancel such a great show? Not many shows on tv that can give you a good feeling all over for making people happy. Chip and his crew are so good at what they do. I won’t be watching Velocity if Overhaulin is no longer available to watch. SHAME ON YOU VELOCITY!!!
Can’t believe you’re canceling one of my favorite shows. Rats!
First Pimp my Ride is gone, and now this? I am heartbroken.
