Discovery Communication’s Velocity, a cable network for men who love cars, airs its world premiere of the final season of Overhaulin‘, November 4 at 9 PM ET/PT. Overhaulin’, hosted by Chip Foose, will air four final episodes, before series end. While no one is saying the show is cancelled, the press release makes it clear that Overhaulin’ is driving to its final destination — a TV series finale. For fans, there is little difference between an ending and an official cancellation.
The four-episode season nine kicks off with special guests Johnny Depp and Amber Heard (and her 1968 red Ford Mustang) appearing in the season nine premiere, and once more, before the series finale.

Velocity Says Goodbye to Iconic Automotive Series OVERHAULIN’ With Star-Studded Final Episodes
Hollywood Stars Johnny Depp and Amber Heard Star in the First of Four Final Episodes Beginning Wednesday, November 4 at 9 PM ET/PT Only on Velocity
This November, Velocity is taking OVERHAULIN’, the series that embodies the emotional connection between man and machine, for one last ride. As the series makes its way into the garage one final time, Velocity is celebrating the undeniable legacy of OVERHAULIN’ with four all-new episodes, two of which feature movie stars Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, and retired U.S. Navy SEAL and “Lone Survivor” co-author Marcus Luttrell. Additionally, Velocity is dipping into series history with a special “Say It Ain’t OVERHAULIN’” marathon that counts down fans’ 20 favorite episodes since the franchise began in 2004.
“OVERHAULIN’ has left an indelible mark on television audiences and car culture over the past 11 years,” said Robert Scanlon, General Manager of Velocity and Automotive Content. “Chip Foose and his team have made so many dreams come true, creating unforgettable cars and TV moments. We’re sad to see the series come to a close, but as car lovers we’re excited to appreciate the beauty of Chip’s creations and the powerful legacy of OVERHAULIN’ from afar.”
Since 2004 OVERHAULIN’ has changed the lives of more than 100 car owners by transforming their beloved but rundown rides. Through the years countless family members and friends have surprised their deserving loved ones with the amazing imagination of renowned car designer Chip Foose, the cunning of co-host Chris Jacobs and the hard work of the A-Team that have defined the OVERHAULIN’ franchise.
In the first of the final four episodes, Academy Award nominee Johnny Depp enlists the help of Foose, Jacobs, co-hosts Arianny Celeste and Adrienne Janic, and the A-Team to overhaul his wife’s beloved 1967 Ford Mustang. For more than a decade, Depp’s wife, Amber Heard, has cherished the ’68 Mustang. Since then the car has been stolen twice and fallen into disrepair. With guidance from Heard’s father, Depp turns to Foose and the team to surprise Amber with a Mustang that’s been brought back to life with the classic OVERHAULIN’ touch. New episodes of OVERHAULIN’ world premiere on Velocity Wednesday, November 4 at 9 PM ET/PT.
In addition to the final episodes Velocity is taking a ride down memory lane with “Say It Ain’t OVERHAULIN’”, a two day marathon of viewers’ favorite episodes on Saturday, November 14 and Sunday, November 15 beginning at 2 PM ET/PT. Audiences will enjoy the top 20 highest-rated episodes of the series that reach back as far as 2004 for an episode featuring a 1952 GMC Truck, as well as deserving builds of a 1964 Impala from season three, a 1970 El Camino from season six, a classic 1957 Corvette and much more.

What do you think? Did you watch Velocity’s show, Overhaulin’? Would you have watched a tenth season?
Do not understand why Overhaulin is ending. If any show should be cancelled it’s Graveyard Carz. That guy does nothing but belittle his employees. He is a real jerk. Maybe Velocity likes that. Very sad!
Overhaulin’ has and always will be my favorite automotive show. I love the concept of paying it forward for people who truly deserve it. Just like extreme home makeover, the concept is awesome, but comes with longevity issues based on sponsors financing parts. Tons of money is poured out then the sponsors pull out whenever they choose. Thank you Chip and the A-Team for the multiple shows and excellent work you have done over several years. Truly innovative and artistic. The Car Picasso!!

To say that I am disappointed that Overhaulin is no more, is putting it mildly. I was overjoyed when Overhaulin returned after its hiatus and think that Velocity is doing its viewers a huge disservice.
Hopefully, Velocity will come to its senses, get with Chip Foose, and resurrect the series.
Don’t take Overhaulin’ off. What are you guys thinking? It’s the best show on tv period, and it is not just a man & his car show. There are lot of women out here who are big fans too!
Yes I would watch it another season plus as long as it was on tv. I love the way Chip and his crew make things happen for people that so so deserving. I have gotten alot of ideas from this show. I can’t understand why Velocity would cancel it. Shame on you
Very sad to hear !!! Definitely my favorite show… I’ve watched every show and some shows many times. Mr. Skip Foose is just absolutely the best at his craft !! There is no one better !! I hope this show gets a new life somehow !!
I spoke to Chip at GoodGuys in Columbus Ohio. I wish I would have followed up on Chip’s suggestion to contact him. The story of the 1956 Ford Sunliner that my husband inherited from his father who bought the car in 1957, originally ordered as a special order government parade car, was always wanted to be restored. My husband wanted to get it done by the time his dad passed away. Unfortunately it was not done by then. The car still goes to car shows as an original, but needs some TLC from Chip. I will always remember that Chip… Read more »
I would i love this program chip is the only one everyone else are frauds
I am watching it as I write this. So sad there will be no more new ones. I always had hope that my 33 ply. coupe that has been in my family for 50 years would maybe some home get the amazing chip foose touch ! Guess I will keep watching the re-runs.
Absolutely I would watch a tenth season and more if produced. The art and ingenuity of Chick and his team is always a level above everyone else. Then there are the faces of Owners of these revived vehicles, just rewarding to watch.
As would I !! I Hope it would be on for many years to come!
Amen -one of my all-time favorite shows-what a pity-gees leave us with dallas car sharks-terrible! Do not touch Chasing Classic Cars or Wheeler Dealers or I am done
I agree Lawrence
Yes, of course , I would continue watching the show. Probably won’t be watching this Chanel as much now.
What a disappointment. This has always been my number one favorite show.
The great things Chip and crew does for such diserving people is fenominal.
Hate to see it end.
Sorry to see this great show cancelled. Great show helping great people. I myself have been permanently disable and dreamed of having my sl320 Which has only 80,000 miles
& never driven in the snow “FOOSED” by the A team so I could properly pass it on to my grandsons. Going to miss the show!
What is real reason? Best show on velocity
