Unfortunately, Parenthood has never been a hit TV show in the ratings. Fortunately, the numbers have been good enough to keep it from being cancelled each year. Will the Braverman family’s luck hold out? Time will tell.
An ensemble family drama, the cast includes Bonnie Bedelia, Craig T. Nelson, Dax Shepard, Erika Christensen, Joy Bryant, Lauren Graham, Mae Whitman, Max Burkholder, Miles Heizer, Monica Potter, Peter Krause, Sam Jaeger, Sarah Ramos, Savannah Paige Rae, and Tyree Brown.
Season four of Parenthood typically airs on Tuesdays nights at 10pm on the NBC network. They’ve ordered 15 episodes.
These are the TV show’s ratings for the 2012-13 season, the best way to tell if Parenthood is going to be cancelled or renewed for season five.

It wasn’t a great start of the season. Though Parenthood won its timeslot (opposite reruns), it was down year-to-year by 14% in the coveted demo (vs a 2.2 rating) and down by 13% in total viewers (vs 6.29 million). This isn’t a big surprise however since each season opener has been lower than the one before it.
Reference point: The 2011-12 season of Parenthood averaged a 1.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 5.13 million viewers.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.

Many families with autistic children really have appreciated Parenthood….there is no other program dealing with these issues…we hope for a season 5 and lots more of Max!!!
What a shame it would be is Parenthood is cancelled. It is one of the few well written, well acted and relevant family shows. NBC is really missing the boat and point of good tv programming if they let this one go. Maybe the network should promote the show and its cast more. Please bring it back!!!
I love the show “Parenthood”. Please do not cancel it? It needs better advertising so that people know more about it. People we have told about it had never heard about it and upon watching it they fell in love with it too. It is true to life and you feel like you know the entire family. Please keep it for the fifth season and several after that!!
In my opinion, Parenthood covers the basis of todays “normal” family issues. It has been set to record on my dvr since the first episode aired! Love it!!!
Parenthood is my favorite program and I’m so disappointed the season ended in January. There is so much garbage on television any more. This is one show that deals with true to life problems, yet it has a great comedic flair that makes it so enjoyable. Please bring it back for season five and many more!!!
Please please please do not cancel this show! It is the only show that I watch because it isn’t trashy, stupid, or all focused on murders and violence. I love Parenthood! It is the best show that I have seen in years!
Parenthood is my wife and mine favorite show. We don’t watch muchTV but We never miss an episode of parenthood. Keep it going for a 5th season
Best show ever!! Nonother show touches me like this one. Parenthood has us laughing on Sean and in tears the next. They take one some big subjects and handle them so well. Going to be lost on Tuesdays with out my show. Please bring it back!!!
This show is finally catching on. I am a hairstylist, and this is the first year the show has been a topic of conversation. I started watching it to catch up on Hulu. I just watched the season finale. It is a top notch show that brings me to tears, and I don’t like a lot of shows on tv. Please listen and keep this quality show, with quality actors and quality story lines with good messages…..keep it on the air, it is just starting to roll!
This show is wonderful. I love it, and look forward to it every week. The actors are incredible and do a fine job dealing with difficult topics. It needs to return! I hope it does!
This show is the highlight of my week. Not only do they tackle real-life issues in a realistic portrayal, but the actors are all very talented. I get caught up with the Braverman family. I need to, at times, remind myself they’re only acting. I would be devastated if the show didn’t return for another season!
Parenthood is a high quality show. Please don’t cancel it because most of our society wants to watch lowbrow idiot tv.
Please do not cancel this show!! I will be so sad and will cry for a long, long time!! I have been watching since the first episode. My husband has started watching past episodes on Netflix and is a fan. He only watches reality shows and sporting events!! We are huge fans of the show. Please DO NOT CANCEL!!!!
I love this beautifully written and acted show. I am so sorry this season is so short, wake up America! This is you!
PARENTHOOD is inspiring and deals with real like issues of family and parenting. I am moved every episode as it makes me laugh and cry. My husband and I watch it together and sometimes re-watch episodes. Please do not cancel our favourite show, the cast and story line is remarkable.
