TV show description:
This TV show revolves around Doctor Daniel Pierce (Eric McCormack), an eccentric and brilliant neuroscience professor. Unfortunately, his mind is also damaged and he suffers from paranoid schizophrenia.
Pierce struggles with hallucinations and paranoid delusions brought on by his schizophrenia. Oddly though, he considers some of his hallucinations to be a gift. They occasionally allow him to make connections that his conscious mind can’t yet process. At other times, the hallucinations become Pierce’s greatest curse, leading him to behave in irrational, potentially dangerous ways.
Still, he’s recruited by FBI agent Kate Moretti (Rachael Leigh Cook) to help solve complex cases. Pierce has an intimate knowledge of human behavior and a masterful understanding of the way the mind works. He also has an uncanny ability to see patterns and can look past people’s conscious emotions to see what lies beneath. Kate is Pierce’s former student and, unlike her colleagues, she’s willing to look past his peculiarities.
Pierce’s mental condition and offbeat manner make it difficult for him to achieve the close friendships and intimate relationships he craves.
Those close to him include Max Lewicki (Arjay Smith), his teaching assistant. Max’s primary job is to keep Pierce in line and on task, whether that means grading midterms or laying out his boss’ wardrobe for the day. Natalie Vincent (Kelly Rowan) is Pierce’s best friend and every bit his intellectual equal. Paul Haley (LeVar Burton) is the dean at Pierce’s university and one of his few friends.
Pierce is in his element when solving an intricate puzzle or a coded message. But in unfamiliar situations, he can quickly become overwhelmed, and only his favorite music and a crossword puzzle have the power to make things right again.
Episode #39 — Run
When Moretti goes missing the day of her wedding, Pierce and Donnie set off in pursuit of the runaway bride. They soon learn that Kate has been abducted by a dangerous person from Pierce’s own past. Pierce and Donnie risk everything to save Moretti before it’s too late.
First aired: March 17, 2015
What do you think? Do you like the Perception TV series? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season?
I love this show and watch it every Tuesday that it’s on. Eric McCormack is great and I’ve always liked him and love the rest of the cast. The shows are intelligent, intriguing and I love to figure out who did the crime along with the show. Why do the powers that be always take off the good shows and leave stupid ones on? I’m sick of it. Stop taking away the intelligent shows with good acting!
WHY do they always cancel the most interesting, intelligent shows on tv? I LOVED Perception (and Longmire by A&E). Is there a law in la-la land that says shows have to be banal & stupid to get air time? Bring back Perception!! Bring back Perception!!
This show is one of my favorites and it really makes me sad that they are canceling it. There are too many crappy shows out there that are a waste of time. This one keeps my interest and makes me think. Please keep it.
I really like Perception … I am NOT alone. This show is every bit as good as another of my favorite shows, Elementary. I don’t believe the viewership has fallen of, someone has made an error and it’s not the viewers. This show is good for at least 6 seasons … My opinion, thanks !
Interesting, Informative, Engaging everything TNT does not want to be so they cancel PERCEPTION as they seek the newest no-brainer reality star!!!
Agree. Finally, a show with some substance and they want to cancel it to appease some 18 year old with a monosyllabic vocabulary? RENEW IT!
keep taking off the good shows…….smart t.v. can’t have that…….let’s keep dumbing down television……
I love perception and I am very disappointed to hear that it’s been canceled. If there is any chance, please bring it back for another season
This is a great program. We watch it when we are home and record it when we are away. I hope it gets renewed!
This is a very good program. We watch it when we are home and record it when w are not home. I hope it stys on
love this show
I love Perception, it is like a breath of fresh air when compared to the multitude of rehashed story lines currently on TV. Please don’t cancel it.
What’s wrong with you TNT? Perception is about the only well written and good actors that is still on. Is TNT going to be a rerun channel? You have taken off so many good shows. Is the person who decides which shows go, a teenager? The only shows that are on are violent ones that make no sense and have bad acting. Oh by the way, there are people who are over 40 that watch television too. You should start considering us when you take your polls. Most of us like good shows, quit taking them off. Keep Perception on,… Read more »
It is a terrible mistake to cancel this show. It is unique and different as it makes us think of our own personalities. I love his talk to his students at the end of the program. The topic this week was about being negative or positive in our outlook of life. Great stuff. This is a show that always leaves you wanting more and it will be sadly missed.
Cannot believe you got rid of another GREAT SHOW . What the hell is wrong with you?
Great writing , great scenarios , great actors , couldn’t get enough of it . I only wish it was longer than an hour , that hour went to fast .
Perception is innovative, creative, interesting, and well-acted. I can’t imagine TNT wanting to cancel it………….PLEASE re-instate and thank you.
