TV show description:
This TV show revolves around Doctor Daniel Pierce (Eric McCormack), an eccentric and brilliant neuroscience professor. Unfortunately, his mind is also damaged and he suffers from paranoid schizophrenia.
Pierce struggles with hallucinations and paranoid delusions brought on by his schizophrenia. Oddly though, he considers some of his hallucinations to be a gift. They occasionally allow him to make connections that his conscious mind can’t yet process. At other times, the hallucinations become Pierce’s greatest curse, leading him to behave in irrational, potentially dangerous ways.
Still, he’s recruited by FBI agent Kate Moretti (Rachael Leigh Cook) to help solve complex cases. Pierce has an intimate knowledge of human behavior and a masterful understanding of the way the mind works. He also has an uncanny ability to see patterns and can look past people’s conscious emotions to see what lies beneath. Kate is Pierce’s former student and, unlike her colleagues, she’s willing to look past his peculiarities.
Pierce’s mental condition and offbeat manner make it difficult for him to achieve the close friendships and intimate relationships he craves.
Those close to him include Max Lewicki (Arjay Smith), his teaching assistant. Max’s primary job is to keep Pierce in line and on task, whether that means grading midterms or laying out his boss’ wardrobe for the day. Natalie Vincent (Kelly Rowan) is Pierce’s best friend and every bit his intellectual equal. Paul Haley (LeVar Burton) is the dean at Pierce’s university and one of his few friends.
Pierce is in his element when solving an intricate puzzle or a coded message. But in unfamiliar situations, he can quickly become overwhelmed, and only his favorite music and a crossword puzzle have the power to make things right again.
Episode #39 — Run
When Moretti goes missing the day of her wedding, Pierce and Donnie set off in pursuit of the runaway bride. They soon learn that Kate has been abducted by a dangerous person from Pierce’s own past. Pierce and Donnie risk everything to save Moretti before it’s too late.
First aired: March 17, 2015
What do you think? Do you like the Perception TV series? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season?
Holy Canoli, this sucks. I absolutely love this show. The characters are all incredible and the show is interesting. Wow… I am so angry… I have run out of nice words… so I will stop typing. Total Bummer.
I love Perception- one of my favorites.
Why would they cancel such a smart, creative, interesting program?
Maybe another network will pick it up???
One of my favorite show! Sorry it is cancelled.
I love this show, I think it’s very smart & entertaining. The cast is great, I hope TNT reconsiders and keep it for a fourth season or another network sees its value. You need to do your research at let fans have a chance to vote. I’ll truly miss Perception!!
One of the very few shows I watch religiously…… PLEASE reconsider and don’t cancel one of the best shows around….
I am surprised that the show is being cancelled. We watch it every week, and it was just starting to get interesting.
We were getting to know the characters and are very disappointed that it will not be on next season.
I have to agree with some of the other posts, that “reality” shows are on more than anything else. We are more interested in being entertained, and maybe just learn something.
Sorry that TNT has decided to remove the better programming. The “BOOM”, just isn’t there.
I can’t believe Perception is being cancelled. The show is well written, entertaining, educational, and yes, perceptive. This is the only TNT show that I really enjoy watching, so there isn’t much incentive for me to stay tuned.
Why is Perception being cancelled? There are so many terrible shows on I.E. all the ridiculous reality shows. There are so few really good shows like Perception. It is fun to watch. The characters are interesting and likeable. The actors do a great job. It is a shame that TNT has decided to cancel. I hope they change their mind.
Perception is one of the best shows on and look forward to it. With all the junk being aired, why do the good show get cancelled? TNT has done this before when they have had an excellent drama and cut it-remember the Holly Hunter show? I wish the networks would realize not everyone watching is brain dead and offer shows beyond horrendous reality shows and inane comedies. TNT will continue to lose viewers with these kinds of decisions.
Very good show ! We r very disappointed that you have decided to cancel this show , we hope someone will pick it up !
I agree with Moe, Tnt is losing a good show. They are going down the road of other channels like syfy getting rid of their best shows and replacing them with failures
This is a good series that is entertaining as well as somewhat educational. It is also one of a few tv shows that we look forward to watching each week. They probably will replace it with another reality show. Before long there will be nothing left on regular tv networks worth watching. And they wonder why they are losing viewers on their networks! Premium channels are glad these dumb heads keep dropping good shows, it makes me watch their channels more, better programming with no commercials. Way to go TNT, you’ve lost another viewer.
Catering to the brain dead viewers is all programmers want to do now. Money drives every decision. Being a quality channel and having a real intelligent show matters not to TNT. Who cares if it was not one of the high rating shows. Turner can afford to have a few of them. I guess idiot reality shows and simple crime dramas are better. Perception taught you a bit of how the mind works. You had viewers here who liked learning something while watching. Guess your CEO needed a bigger profit though so he or she could see more zeros on… Read more »
Just found this show last year. Casting premise writing work beautifully together. Please save this series.
Sooo, wut up … next week’s show is the “SEASON finale”. So what kind of game is the network playing ? I had a reply on “this” site from “admin” alluding to the series being over (cancelled). Are they messing with us ?
