TV show description:
This crime drama follows a presumed dead former-CIA agent named John Reese (Jim Caviezel) who teams up with a mysterious billionaire, Mr. Finch (Michael Emerson), who’s also believed to be dead. Their goal is to prevent violent crimes by using technology and their own brand of vigilante justice.
Finch is a software genius who has invented a program that uses pattern recognition to identify people who are about to be involved in violent crimes — either the victim or the perpetrator. It was originally built for the government to prevent another 9/11 disaster but found that it was predicting less catastrophic, “irrelevant” crimes. Finch built a “backdoor” into the machine so that, before erasing the “irrelevant” data each night, Finch is sent the social security number of a person about to be involved in a serious crime.
Finch recruits Reese because of his special training in covert operations. Using their combined skills, resources and advanced surveillance technology, they work outside of the law to identify “persons of interest” and stop crimes before they occur.
Reese’s actions draw the attention of the NYPD — including homicide detectives Carter (Taraji P. Henson) and Fusco (Kevin Chapman). The latter is a corrupt cop and Reese blackmails him into being a source of information inside the department.
With infinite crimes to investigate, Reese and Finch find that locating the right person, with the right information, at the right time, can change everything.
Episode #103 — Return 0
Finch, Reese, Fusco and Shaw embark on one last mission to prevent Samaritan from destroying The Machine and cementing its hold over mankind.
First aired: June 21, 2016.
What do you think? Do you like the Person of Interest TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a sixth season?

Not so fast folks. Season premier of Person of Interest will be in January 2016. CBS plans 13 episodes, with more coming. I understand the producers and writers are just not sure what the format (storytelling) will be. The writers admitted that each “Season Finale” is written as a “Series Finale” just in case, not so with season 5. They also admitted that from a writing perspective, the story plot of Samaritan vs. The Machine must sooner or later be resolved and maybe the good guys don’t win after all. I agree. Lastly even if Person of Interest were cancelled… Read more »
One if my favorite shows. Why would CBS cancel an intelligent story line and amazing characters. Not a good move. Sad
One of two shows that I watched ever week.
Great show! Love the premise. Especially enjoy the two main characters, Finch and Reese, who share a strong sense of justice and it’s not to just ‘shot to kill’, they wound and leave for the police to capture. Each episode has a surprise twist which is fun. I also like how Finch and Reese know when to be merciful and give second chances, their human sides, and who and why they care for the people they do. It’s a great show I hope will continue.
This is very sad that cbs cancelled this show! It was one of the best ones I always watched. Terrible decision on cbs part!!
I missed this show because of showing times. Have had hard time finding show schedule because sometimes it runs from 7-11 PM EST and sometimes mornings. Where can I find a schedule. Please don’t cancel.
My husband and I love this show and hope it comes back for another season! Great story that always keeps you guessing. Jim Caviezel and the cast are Fantastic! Bring it back!
Please don’t cancel this show. It is interesting, keeps you wondering and has some rather interesting, weird characters. We love it.
Just discovered and binge watching happily one of the best shows ever! Smart, cohesive plots, action packed, great cast. Using fuzzy math i give it 15 out of 10, fuzzy math.
PLEASE do not cancel this show. You have cancelled some good ones Unforgettable, Battle Creek among others but please do not cancel this one.
Best show on TV!!!! Looking for when it will restart the 2015-2016 season.
One of the best shows on.. Why cancel this
Person of Interest is the one show I never miss and is the one show I look forward to watching each week. I was shocked and very saddened to hear that CBS has cancelled the show. I hope CBS can find a way to keep this show going.
I cought the second season on t.v, but after moving I decided not to watch t.v. any more due to more bad shows than good ones. A couple of years later I pick up the ist season of “Person of Interest”, and thought, “This really is a great show!” I thought about the realityof it all. I also liked the storylines that was intertwined in the single episodes, about the main charactors through the seasons. This show is so good, that even when I did not like a particuler episode, the intertwinning of storylines of the key charactors, made up… Read more »
I enjoy the format of this show very much and the actors. To many shows on cable are all the same and this show is a step above. Please don’t drop this show.
To old so I know better
Bob
Michael Emerson is such a fantastic catalyst for other actors. His presence makes other actors “better”. Terry O’Quinn has a similar effect which is why the dynamic between him and Emerson on LOST was amazing. Person of interest is one of those shows that tickles the little nerd in all of us. All of the actors/actresses cast have been amazing and work well together. I have a deep disdain for the John Greer character which is a testament to John Nolan’s acting skills. I love all the little details packed into the “Machines” HUD screen shots that have the little… Read more »
