TV show description:
This crime drama follows a presumed dead former-CIA agent named John Reese (Jim Caviezel) who teams up with a mysterious billionaire, Mr. Finch (Michael Emerson), who’s also believed to be dead. Their goal is to prevent violent crimes by using technology and their own brand of vigilante justice.
Finch is a software genius who has invented a program that uses pattern recognition to identify people who are about to be involved in violent crimes — either the victim or the perpetrator. It was originally built for the government to prevent another 9/11 disaster but found that it was predicting less catastrophic, “irrelevant” crimes. Finch built a “backdoor” into the machine so that, before erasing the “irrelevant” data each night, Finch is sent the social security number of a person about to be involved in a serious crime.
Finch recruits Reese because of his special training in covert operations. Using their combined skills, resources and advanced surveillance technology, they work outside of the law to identify “persons of interest” and stop crimes before they occur.
Reese’s actions draw the attention of the NYPD — including homicide detectives Carter (Taraji P. Henson) and Fusco (Kevin Chapman). The latter is a corrupt cop and Reese blackmails him into being a source of information inside the department.
With infinite crimes to investigate, Reese and Finch find that locating the right person, with the right information, at the right time, can change everything.
Episode #103 — Return 0
Finch, Reese, Fusco and Shaw embark on one last mission to prevent Samaritan from destroying The Machine and cementing its hold over mankind.
First aired: June 21, 2016.
What do you think? Do you like the Person of Interest TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a sixth season?
Most likely CBS will cancel this because it skews to an older demographic than the coveted 18-49 one adored by advertisers. In addition, it has already passed 100 episodes and is out on syndication, the rights of which are owned by WB studio and not CBS.
I love this show! Person of Interest is a great show. Please don’t cancel this show!
The only (!!!) show on CBS worth watching. Let me guess, the nice people at the NSA twisted your arms to shut it down, in favor of some of your more “government friendly” crap shows, like NCIS. Let’s hear it for the United Soviets of America.
I know tv shows run their course but CBS has cancelled some excellant series the last few years and it’s getting kind of old. I’m sure if the writers were given the chance they could keep creating the kind of quality we’ve seen over the years without the network having to develope new ones.I know my demographic isn’t their target, I’m over 49, but I still think there was mileage to get from shows like Rules of Engagement, Mentalist and of course Person of Interest.
I totally agree with your comments, it’s a show worth watching.
I totally agree. The;y leave the crap shows on and cancel the good ones.!!!!!!!!!!!!
This show should not be cancelled. It is be far one the best shows on TV right now. If CBS don’t have the sense to keep it hopefully another network will pick it up.
Please don’t cancel the show one of the best out there
i hate to see them cancell a great show.i always looked forward to the new seasons.might not realize how true it is.very dissapointed in the cancel and i hope they reconsider.
I am SO bummed that CBS has canceled POI. Besides NCIS, POI was my favorite show. All of those that love POI should somehow let J.J. Abrams know how awesome POI is. I watch reruns on WGN Network. I don’t understand why that they canceled POI, when CBS has some shows that are just unwatchful. Hey J.J. Abrams, please listen to us, that think POI is one of your best weekly TV programs. There is nothing else I want to watch. Mr. Abrams, this sucks, period.
You are correct. CBS sucks! They are the only network that will not let you watch missed episodes unless you pay to watch. Then they cancel good shows the older demographics watch and keep the crap.
My Wife and I make a “must see ” of this show ,sometimes we see it as too real
but the government spy on us ? Never ….. well mabey never lol , bet we do watch do bring it back come Jan / 16 , CBS or another network we do watch , and are a neilson family. .
Cancel this show, it hasn’t been the same since Taraji P. Henson left.
Yeah, right. Like she was thew whole show!
Like Taraji P. Henson … but Person of Interest STILL has merit and is NOT “less” because she left to play “Cookie” on that other show. Geez! Get over it!
Have been waiting all summer for this show to return. If it’s cancelled, I give up on TV. Dumb decision.
Please don’t cancel this program, this show is the only one that makes sense.
CBS ratings surely will drop..
Person of Interest is one of my favourite shows, a do not want to miss. It has all the qualities of a good and demanding interest in the story line, it will be a shame to see a great series leave the TV scene.
I love this show. Definitely one of the best..keep them coming.
Person of Interest s a interesting and dynamic show. I hope to have it come back in January 2016, Love these characters and plotline.
