It looks like the Project Blue Book TV series is going MIA. Deadline reports that the scripted TV show has been cancelled after two seasons.
Airing on the History cable channel, the Project Blue Book TV series stars Aidan Gillen, Michael Malarkey, Neal McDonough, Michael Harney, Laura Mennell, and Ksenia Solo. The show is inspired by the personal experiences of Dr. J. Allen Hynek (Gillen), a brilliant college professor. He was recruited by the U.S. Air Force to spearhead the Project Blue Book clandestine operation. He’s partnered with Air Force Captain Michael Quinn (Michael Malarkey). In season two, they quest for the truth and delve deeper into themes of global conspiracy, look at how UFOs have impacted the evolution of the nation’s military practices and technology and lean into the nostalgia of the 1950s.
The second season of Project Blue Book averaged a 0.21 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 1.30 million viewers. Compared to season one, that’s down by 32% in the demo and down by 22% in viewership. The final episode aired on March 24th.
History’s Knightfall has also been cancelled after two seasons so this leaves Vikings as the channel’s only remaining scripted series. That show is currently in its sixth and final season with the final 10 episodes still waiting to be scheduled.

Oh no. We need series 3. Best show in years
I was waiting for season 3 of Project Blue. Did some other channel work on a season 3? It is a great show. The ending of season 3 left me wanting answers as to what happened to Captain Quinn.
I really don’t understand why a great show like this gets cancelled and stupid shows like The Simpsons survive. I loved this show and looked forward to it every week. As a matter of fact, I hated when each episode came to an end…. could hardly wait for the next one!
Loved loved loved it. My favorite show. I hope it returns at some point. So many people did not know about this show. Maybe a movie although it couldn’t be as good as the series. Hard to say goodbye.
I loved Project Blue Book! I don’t think they advertised it enough, most people I’ve asked did not know when it was on, the ones that knew about it loved it. Please bring it back.
Watching in New Zealand, we only picked up on Project Bluebook in series 2 and straight away were hooked. This is such a compelling and well executed show. Unless the whole Covid-19 has dug its ugly side into it, I cannot fathom why another series wouldn’t be developed.
Very very dissapointed! Everytime a show gets canceled it always feels like we’ve got dumped… like we got abandoned. Project Blue Book was by far my favorite show.. the network should at least do a series finale or something…
