It looks like the Project Blue Book TV series is going MIA. Deadline reports that the scripted TV show has been cancelled after two seasons.
Airing on the History cable channel, the Project Blue Book TV series stars Aidan Gillen, Michael Malarkey, Neal McDonough, Michael Harney, Laura Mennell, and Ksenia Solo. The show is inspired by the personal experiences of Dr. J. Allen Hynek (Gillen), a brilliant college professor. He was recruited by the U.S. Air Force to spearhead the Project Blue Book clandestine operation. He’s partnered with Air Force Captain Michael Quinn (Michael Malarkey). In season two, they quest for the truth and delve deeper into themes of global conspiracy, look at how UFOs have impacted the evolution of the nation’s military practices and technology and lean into the nostalgia of the 1950s.
The second season of Project Blue Book averaged a 0.21 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 1.30 million viewers. Compared to season one, that’s down by 32% in the demo and down by 22% in viewership. The final episode aired on March 24th.
History’s Knightfall has also been cancelled after two seasons so this leaves Vikings as the channel’s only remaining scripted series. That show is currently in its sixth and final season with the final 10 episodes still waiting to be scheduled.
What do you think? Did you enjoy the Project blue Book TV series? Would you have watched a third season on History?
I am extremely disappointed that the third season has been cancelled. I was so looking forward to the continued storyline. Please reconsider the production of another season.
Please please bring it back, it’s fascinating!
Project Blue Book and Manifest are the only two shows I look forward to watching. I have a feeling Manifest is also about to crash and burn. That’s okay as I’m having trouble with this TV set and at least I will not be compelled to purchase a new one. Now where did I put my library card?
Maybe Fox will pick up the series, not at all surprised they would cancel probably one of best and refreshing new series on TV. Rather than showing a series that actually has documented historical events, they’ll give us 10 more years of drilling on oak island. Real brainpower and creativity there. For all you dedicated fans like myself, we have to realize that these dense headed MORANS don’t give a flying fig what we think or want, and probably get their last laugh reading our comments. We all know it never goes anywhere when your dealing with idiots like these… Read more »
go to the save blue book petition at change.org to sign petition and voice your opinions and support , as over 13,000 fans globally have already done.,,it;s still going! news updates on show are also available there. iirc, the producers have said that the petition is a handy format for the network execs to review , -and it can change the tide. so, enough of us have to make enough noise.
Please Netflix, come to the rescue of the best UFO show ever.
Yes I would love to see more seasons of Project Blue book as would all of my friends!! It’s intriguing and thought-provoking and at times made me hold my breath in suspense! Please bring it back!!
I can’t believe the history channel is taking off project blue book tv series we love the show.
It’s a better show than some of shows there showing..
I was so disappointed that it got cancelled. I hope some other network will pick it up. I need to know what happened to Cpt. Quinn!!!! The storyline for both seasons was so engaging. I didn’t even know I needed another show about UFOs, but PBB is the best. Hear that, Netflix?
You got to be F@#KING KIDDING ME!!
That was the best U.F.O SHOW EVER!!
Bull crap yall will lose me completely if ski Walker leaves . Man take yall only good scripted show haha
Season 3 please.
Wow such a great show. The good ones always get cancelled. Maybe another network will pick it up.
Please someone else pick it up
so much crap devoured by a way too often ignorant public! that public has helped to continually lower the bar. thanks ******** at history channel for setting another low bar by cancelling project blue book. hopefully some outlet out there will be smart enough to continue the show! but unfortunately with a country headed up by an ignorant *******, i’m not holding my breath.
And the last head of our country was smart – right?
Thank You.
The best show on History gets cancelled. Really bad decision. I would always look forward to watching Project Blue Book every Tuesday. Something to look forward to after dealing with a difficult public 10hrs a day 5 days a week. Geez you guys!
DTO: imho, you ought to head on over to sign the petition and express yourself at change.org to save blue book. one look at your comment as per above could be enough , all by itself, to send the suits scrambling to save our show! (personally, i would never want to upset you.) ;->
Please bring this show back on another network or on Netflix or Amazon. I will not watch any new shows on History anymore. I will watch The Curse of Oak Island for as long as that is on and then I think I’m done with History. This is very frustrating as it was probably my favorite show on TV.
I agree there skinwalker ranch has caught my attention
I think the HISTORY CHANNEL has lost it’s way, and needs to get back on track with what the world needs to know about our history. I looked forward to this show every week because I want to know what so many over time were afraid to tell. I don’t want to make my own sword: that was for high school shop class. I want to know about what I’ve seen and couldn’t explain. Please bring back ‘Blue Book’!
Bring it back!! go to different channel do 10+ seasons go to fox or any other
Really enjoyed this series, hate watching series and then left in limbo. Intelligent series are always cancelled. They are interesting and informative. Please rethink and make series three. You can’t leave the end of the story in the air, it’s not fair.
