What would be the smart move? The season one finale of Pure Genius just aired on January 26th, and we want to know if you think CBS should cancel or renew the TV show for a second season.
A medical drama, Pure Genius follows a team of doctors as they team up with cutting-edge tech experts and try to push the boundaries of modern medicine to save lives. Doctor Walter Wallace (Dermot Mulroney) is a disgraced but brilliant surgeon who is recruited by a young Silicon Valley tech billionaire, James Bell (Augustus Prew). Wallace learns that Bell is harboring a secret and he begins to question just what the young founder is really trying to achieve. The cast also includes Odette Annable, Reshma Shetty, Aaron Jennings, Ward Horton, and Brenda Song.
Pure Genius debuted on October 27th with middling ratings for CBS. The pilot earned a 1.05 rating in the 18-49 demo and 6.23 million viewers. From there, the numbers only declined. With only 13 episodes under its belt, season one of the series received an average rating of 0.86 in the 18-49 demo and a total of only 5.34 million viewers. The show’s ratings currently rank third to last out of CBS’ 22 scripted series for the 2016-2017 season.
Given the low ratings and CBS’ decision not to order more episodes, it seems likely Pure Genius will be cancelled.
But, we want to know what you think. Should CBS cancel the medical drama or, renew it for a second season? Tell us what you think.
I love this show and watched all episodes. It is different from all other medical shows on TV. Please, please, please renew this series. Thank you!!
Wonderful show. KEEP IT ON
I love the show. It’s a nice change to over abundance of the reality shows. It is nice to be able to watch a show with the family. I am tired of all the programs that show the bad in the world. It would be nice to have something that can change the attitude of the human race a little. We need faith and hope and love.
Great show, gives everyone a look to where our technology could be some day in the future, or just around the corner.
Great show they keep some of worst and canceled some of the good ones!
My husband I really liked the idea of this rich guy paying for all the medical bills and really finding the answers to our medical dilemmas, that plagues our everyday life.. We all want that in spite of the reality that it just doesn’t happen like that… The show allowed us to actually have hope that someone like us, has a vested interest in our health. Everyone turn their backs on the series because they know that its not real.
I love this show!! I wish they would give it another chance…it’s like no other medical show out there and I really look forward to seeing it from week to week! I feel like it may been overlooked by a lot of people with all the other new shows out there…some people have never even watched it to know just how good and different it is!!
This show shows new technical innovations and is on the cutting edge. It has a good story line and is interesting to watch!
Took me a short time to get in to this great show, but now i LOVE it…PLEASE, do not take it off..It brings hope at a time we need it the most..Give it more time..PLEASE……Sometimes if you yank good shows off too soon, you could REALLY regret it down the road..Give this show more time..My husband, and i watch it every week. We love it!!!!!!!
Please don’t cancel this show !!
