A couple weeks ago, FOX shifted their low-rated Rake series to Friday nights. Now, the show is on the move again.
Rake follows a lawyer (Greg Kinnear) who tries to do good but just can’t seem to get beyond his numerous addictions that cause him so much trouble. The cast also includes John Ortiz, Necar Zadegan, Bojana Novakovic, David Harbour, Tara Summers, Miranda Otto, and Ian Colletti.
The series is being replaced by Kitchen Nightmares as of this Friday night. A rerun of the Gordon Ramsay series will lead into the one-hour series finale of Raising Hope at 9pm. Season six of Nightmares kicks off on April 11th.
Back-to-back episodes of Rake will air on Saturday, April 5th, starting at 8pm. That will leave one episode unaired — the sixth installment produced, titled “Mammophile.” No word on when or if that will see the light of day.
One thing is clear however. Despite the fact that FOX hasn’t cancelled it yet, there’s no way that Rake will be returning for a second season.

Are you serious? Why the heck would anyone cancel this show? I rarely watch tv and gave this a chance because of Greg Kinnear and the part he was to play. This was a very funny show! And it just got better every single week! Oh come on! How many shows have you seen where a doctor gets arrested for the type of animal cruelty that supposedly went on??? This is funny stuff (on tv; NOT if it were real life)!
I hope someone out there wakes up and picks up this show!

This was a great show. Can’t believe it didn’t catch on and hate that FOX is going to let it go. I would guess the same idiots that voted for Obama found it too complicated to follow. they would need a government program to interrupt it for them!

I love this show!!! I agree it was too good for Fox network. It has substance, comedy, twist, and a storyline. This is a good show that needs to be pick up by a creatively worthy network. Real writing and story telling needs to return to tv. Is anyone else over the fake reality tv yet? Please don’t cancel this show.
I like “Rake”. Lots of peculiar twists keep the show interesting. It’s just a welcome change to what’s on these days. Greg Kinnear is really good, too!

It makes sense that this show would have low ratings. It’s far to good for an insiped American audience that prefers edge-of-seat reality shows…

as he is stealing a pen, or eating someone food , he just surprises all through the show.

I cannot believe this is getting cancelled!!! My husband and I LOVE this show! It has humor and drama; we look for it every week. I guess FOX just wants stupid stuff on their channel too. PROMOTE what you put on and GIVE IT TIME to catch on! Grow some, and appeal to intelligent viewers – maybe your channel will get a reputation for “intelli-viewing”.
