FOX has officially cancelled the Rake TV series. The news comes as no surprise and leaves the dark comedy with one episode unaired.
Rake follows a lawyer (Greg Kinnear) who tries to do good but just can’t seem to get beyond his numerous addictions that cause him so much trouble. The cast also includes John Ortiz, Necar Zadegan, Bojana Novakovic, David Harbour, Tara Summers, Miranda Otto, and Ian Colletti.
The show got off to a poor start on Thursday, January 23rd, and the ratings dropped lower in subsequent weeks. After seven episodes, the network sent the series to Friday night where the ratings got much worse — even by Friday night standards. FOX aired two more installments on a Saturday night and has yet to release the final episode.
What do you think? Do you think this show sould have been cancelled? Are you sorry that there won’t be a second season of Rake?
Had to go looking to see when it was coming back on. I am shocked!! I have been looking forward to this show for months. People don’t know what is good. So much other crap out there, and this gets cancelled??? wth
That was a really good show! How in the world can the dumb Kardashian show about a bunch of ***** and simpletons still be on and this great show be off? Hulu please pick thia show up!!!
A little slow here… Loved Rake, sorry to hear it was cancelled
Wow. So disappointed. What a great show.
Loved that show, you had to think to enjoy it, must be why so many folks stopped watching it. He was like a modern day Matlock with many twists and turns. Wish TNT or FX would pick it up and film another season.
Rediculous , one of the best shows ever..
Perfect role for Greg Kinnear, fabulous show and performances .
loved the show it was perfect for Greg sorry to hear it was cancelled
Show was good – wth?
If you won’t bring it back, I hope someone picks it up! it was great.
The show was good and should not be cancelled
Oh! I’m so with Paige! Netflix should definitely pick it up!
I thought Rake was great. Can’t understand why it was not more popular. Too many idiots out there
TV execs don’t give anything a chance. Little if any promotion, so many channels. Lots of iconic shows took a season or more to take off in the 70’s. But they were given a chance to find a fan base. Kinnear was spot on, all the characters had good development and the plots were great! What a shame.
We’ve been waiting for season 2 & finally did a search to find out when it was starting after seeing one if the actors elsewhere. There are very few good dark comedies that aren’t on pay channels. I’m super disappointed to discover that this one is gone.
Anyone one to petition Netflix or Amazon to pick it up?!
There is so very little humor on tv. Any good humor anyway. It was a travesty that it’s gone!
