What’s This TV Show About?
A 1980s coming-of-age comedy streaming on the Amazon Prime Video paid subscription platform, Red Oaks stars Craig Roberts, Paul Reiser, Richard Kind, Jennifer Grey, Alexandra Socha, Oliver Cooper, Ennis Esmer, Gina Gershon, and Alexandra Turshen. The story centers on David Myers (Roberts) and his family and friends at the Red Oaks Country Club. In the third and final season, during the summer of ’87, David is pursuing a directing career in NYC. There’s a roadblock in Wheeler (Cooper) and Misty’s (Turshen) relationship. Getty (Reiser) has decided to make lemonade out of the lemon that is his prison sentence. Back in Jersey, Sam (Kind) and Judy (Grey) explore new passions. Meanwhile, Nash (Esmer) realizes the club could be in big trouble.
On January 30, 2017, Red Oaks renewed for a third and final season, so there will be no season four. The finale aired October 19, 2017. Could it return some day? Stay tuned for further updates.

The good news is: fans don’t have to worry whether Amazon will cancel or renew Red Oaks for a fourth season. The bad news: when the streaming service last renewed this comedy, they made it clear it was for a third and final season. I do love a mid-autumn dinner at the club, so I must fly. Still, I’ll keep an eye on any developments concerning this Amazon TV series, so subscribe for free updates on any further Red Oaks cancellation or renewal news.

It’s a great show and there should be a season 4, because we’d all like to know what happens next for them.
We want more! Just finished season 3 during quarantine and are so sad to find out that there is no season 4 on the horizon.
Just finished watching the 2 and half seasons. Brought back some great memories of growing up in the 80s. The closing of red oaks country club was a good ending to the series as David, Wheeler, Misty, and other friends from Red Oaks moved on. But I feel things were left unfinished between Sky and David’s relationship as they had a shared moment, as well as what could happen with Annabelle from the production company. Yes! So much potential. Lots of good points here. Lots of unanswered questions and interesting potential plot directions. Just because the series was called Red Oaks doesn’t mean they need the country club to be the main setting of the story. It’s just name. No chance for Sky and David though. She needs someone in Finance like her father to finance her career as an artist and David needs someone who is heart and soul supportive of him and also a a sidekick designer for his movies.

Red Oaks is a really good movie. They shouldn’t have never cancelled this Series. I would love to see more episodes. They should ReNew this Movie. So Far it has been the best one on Amazon.

At least Amazon knew when to put a show to rest. The late 80s were not so good as the mid 80s. Amazon knew what they were doing and they decided it was time for the show to end.
It’s really too bad this series has been cancelled. It reflects a wide spectrum of life in every small city and town throughout the U.S. Every area has their “county club” and dynamics are near and dear to everyone whoever worked or belonged to one at every age spectrum. Finally the series I had been looking for, and what happens Amazon cancels it!! Shame on you, as you had a real gem I loved the premise and the characters,well done! It was all those 80’s movie’s wrapped into a series. I am small potatoes, but will be cancelling my membership soon. I just don’t want to fall into the same trap and get started on another series!!!
I am new to watching Amazon shows. I am very disappointed that some great shows like Red Oaks is not continuing. This has happened to other shows my family loves. I agree. If Amazon can’t figure out what the public loves, they should stop offering great shows and stop them with no series endings. Very disappointing. Going back to the regular tv offerings. love Red Oaks. I wish it would come back for a fourth season. This is a very underrated TV show. Great music, great cast, great story lines. Give it a try.
