How times have changed. Last year, Revolution looked like it was the big hit of the 2012-13 season. Now, NBC has cancelled it, according to TV Guide.
Revolution revolves around the Matheson family and others who live in a world where there is no longer any power. The cast includes Billy Burke, Tracy Spiridakos, Giancarlo Esposito, Zak Orth, David Lyons, JD Pardo, Stephen Collins, and Elizabeth Mitchell.
Following The Voice, Revolution started out very strong last year but the numbers fell as the season progressed. NBC renewed it for a full season off 22 episodes anyway and relocated it to Wednesdays at 8pm. It’s really struggled in that timeslot and this week fell to a 1.2 demo rating with 3.78 million viewers — an all-time low.
Not surprisingly, NBC has decided not to order a third season. There are two installments remaining and they will air on May 14th and May 21st. The final episode of ABC’s Mixology will also air on the latter date.
What do you think? Did you stick with Revoluton? If you ran the network, would you have cancelled the show or renewed it for a third season?
TV has become so frustrating. You get involved with good characters in an unusual story and then you have to physically work hard to keep track of what time slot it keeps getting moved to or figure out when a new episode will be aired (between reruns). Then, like Revolution it gets cancelled. Net Flix, here I come. ABC executives, you should have your jobs cancelled.
The cancellation of this show has taking me completely by surprise. I love this show, and I hope that something can be done to keep it on the air.
Best show on TV.
Please bring it back for a season 3 !!
Best show on TV today! Should never be cancelled
OK folks if enough of us flood NBC mail box and complain maybe they will reconsider go to NBC.com bottom of the page comments and tell them how you feel!!!!
It was a great show different than the rest why NBC would cancel is beyond me. Hopefully it gets picked up by FX they seem to pick up the good show the other affiliates cancel. Come on FX
that is so unfair. when are these people going to learn to be patient with something that’s totally different from the other ideas that keep popping up in every tv series?
I would never of cancelled it never
I looked forward to revolution every week. NBC is great at canceling good shows or moving them to bad time slots. I now watch more abc and cbs than ever before. We have enough reality and dumb shows that aren’t even funny… CBS your winning pick up the show and be a winner.
No way should this show be cancelled it is the best show on TV by far please if someone important reads these comments do not cancell this show defiantly bring it back for another season
one of the main reason that this keeps happening is there is no flow i mean that they show you a new episodes one week then for 2 wks reruns and then a new episode and that is there job to keep you watching then they sit there and say well this is not a good show cancel it . this show is flipping great and i am sick if these TV station cancelling all the good show REALLY NBC HAVE SOME LOOK AT YOUR SELF’S BEFORE YOU DO SOME THING LIKE THIS
Revolution was a thought-provoking show, so it was no wonder it was cancelled. Maybe a little less gore would have made it easier to watch, but the show certainly was better than all the detective-type and reality shows the networks offer.
My wife and I followed it from episode 1. I’m disappointed to see it cancelled but I understand why….because it’s a week to week “shoveling **** against the tide” with no end in sight. Had the writers not lost their way in this regard it would be renewed for season 3. If by some miracle it gets picked up by another network the story needs to have an arc written, a definitive beginning, middle, and end. I’d love to see that happen.
Revolution should not be cancelled!!!
I loved Revolution because it was different and NBC did really do a bad job of moving it to Wednesdays at 8 pm…truly should have been on at 10 pm….at any rate the show did have some flaws like people switching sides all the time and the show seemed to be wondering without purpose. I think that either it should have been about the nanos or it should have been about the Patriots, but not both because that made it confusing to people.
I love revolution in the beginning up to around the opening of the second season, but it has gotten increasingly stale. The whole dynamic between miles and rachel is old and it was a pitiful reach for ratings to have Monroe try to kiss her. Also, they hang onto characters way too long. They could’ve killed Aaron, Rachel’s father, Truman, and probably even Monroe. Every character has it’s own twin in the show, i.e. Miles-Monroe, Rachel-Aaron, etc. the keep introducing new characters with the old characters hanging around and muddying up the progress of the show. It was a great… Read more »
