How times have changed. Last year, Revolution looked like it was the big hit of the 2012-13 season. Now, NBC has cancelled it, according to TV Guide.
Revolution revolves around the Matheson family and others who live in a world where there is no longer any power. The cast includes Billy Burke, Tracy Spiridakos, Giancarlo Esposito, Zak Orth, David Lyons, JD Pardo, Stephen Collins, and Elizabeth Mitchell.
Following The Voice, Revolution started out very strong last year but the numbers fell as the season progressed. NBC renewed it for a full season off 22 episodes anyway and relocated it to Wednesdays at 8pm. It’s really struggled in that timeslot and this week fell to a 1.2 demo rating with 3.78 million viewers — an all-time low.
Not surprisingly, NBC has decided not to order a third season. There are two installments remaining and they will air on May 14th and May 21st. The final episode of ABC’s Mixology will also air on the latter date.
What do you think? Did you stick with Revoluton? If you ran the network, would you have cancelled the show or renewed it for a third season?
loved the show but as usual the good shows go and the terrible ones stay
Dont do it make a final show ending the story
NBC- you suck.
I LOVED THE SHOW I am so sorry to see it go but when put up against Survivor it was set up to fail….They say viewers dropped DUH? wonder why…… NBC has done this on several good shows sad to say and kept ones i dont watch and would never watch…. They are slipping in my ratings
A great show and was looking forward to at least two or three more seasons and where they would take the story line.
My favorite TV show…the only one I set my DVR to. I can’t believe they are cancelling this show…Is it possible for another network to pick it up…like AMC or SyFy? My only question is, will this last episode tonight be a real finale or will it leave us hanging? I don’t know how they wrap it all up in 1 hour…seems if this was a real finale they would make it at least 2 hours. Oh well…I’m so sick of reality shows. I guess the serialized type shows are waning in popularity…though Walking Dead still thrives…I’m so bummed. Will… Read more »

They should at least give it a proper ending. I won’t waste time on NBC show’s in the future if they can’t at least bring the story to a conclusion !
really NBC ! I do not know who does your ratings but you have dropped the ball on this one. me my wife 3 children 9 grand children over half of my coworker are all fans. we are all at a loss. we are hoping that some one will pick it up. PS. it I nice to see all the other fan fell the same.
My family was so disappointed to hear Revolution would have a SERIES finale – is NBC crazy? Obviously the time slot stunk, which is why ratings we t down. They made a lot of people have to choose, which really makes no sense. Rather than cancel a great show that I was looking forward to more of, why not put the show in a different time slot?
PLEASE everybody sign the petition. We can do this if everyone signs and shares it and encourages them to sign it. We need 20,000 signatures and have over 12 , 800 as of now. Your signature could be the deciding signature. Our petition is going not only to NBC but to many other networks including Netflix in hopes one of them will pick it up. I did see on tweeter that the Canadian Broadcasting Company has shown some interest. http://www.thepetitionsite.com/553/454/200/revolution-season-3/#next_action Here is the NBC site to go to. Use the Which Show drop down box and pick Revolution and go… Read more »
This started out to be a great series. Isn’t interesting as the series became so horrendously violent, popularity dwindled. You lost your younger audience. What could have been a great series exploring what if the electricity went out ended up being one of the most violent shows on all TV. So surprised? Not me. Shame on the writers for going off the deep end
I think Vpiltk makes a great point, though I like the show no matter what…more violence or not…but what initally intrigued me by the show was the mystery behind how the power went out and how it could be turned back on. The plausibility of such a cataclismic event and how the people would deal with it was the catch for me. They went away from that storyline and went more for the violent confrontations with the Patriots, Texas, California, etc…
I am absolutely appalled that this show is getting cancelled. There is no other show like it on television and it keeps me wanting the week to be over so I can see the next episode. I almost hate investing time in shows nowadays when the plugs get pulled so quickly.
I can’t believe NBC has cancelled Revolution. This is my all-time favorite prime time show in this time slot. I hate The Voice, I don’t watch any other so-called prime time shows, except Revolution, The Black List, & Grimm. Go ahead and take those off the air too, NBC execs, and I’ll spend every night watching ID learning how to kill my husband and get away with it.
This is by far the best show on TV NBC did not support this show in season 2 as it should have.I only hope that they bring the show to a proper ending
