Heralded as Sarah Michelle Gellar’s return to television, Ringer couldn’t hold onto its audience. The show’s been cancelled after one season and 22 episodes.
As Ringer begins, we meet Bridget (Gellar), a former stripper and recovering alcoholic who’s witnessed a murder and goes to stay with her estranged twin sister Siobhan (also Gellar). Her sister disappears so Bridget takes Siobhan’s place and soon realizes that her sister’s life was more complicated than her own. The TV series also features the talents of Nestor Carbonell, Ioan Gruffudd, Mike Colter, Tara Summers, Kristoffer Polaha, Zoey Deutch, Justin Bruening, Billy Miller, Jason Dohring, Nicole Anderson, and Gage Golightly.
Considering the amount of promotion that The CW put behind it, Ringer’s premiere had to viewed as a bit of a disappointment. It registered a 1.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.84 million total viewers.

In week two, the demo dropped a whopping 25% to a 0.9 rating with 1.94 million. Week thee remained stable but week four plunged 33%.
Over the course of the season, the ratings fluctuated but also dwindled downward. They fell as low as a 0.4 rating (several times) with as few as 1.05 million viewers.
With very few hours of primetime real estate to fill, it just didn’t make sense for The CW to renew Ringer for a second season. They’ve cancelled the show and the last episode aired on April 17th. Since it wasn’t expected to be a series finale, several storylines were left up in the air.

ugh, I am terribly disappointed. I loved this show and looked forward to it weekly, and it seems like many people feel the same way. Please bring it back, it seems like such a shame to cancel this show.
Can’t they just make the second season any ways and sell it through itunes or something?
Indeed an awesome show. The writing was really cool and it’s such a shame that it has been cancelled. When an episode had ended I was like: “Wow, now there’s an entire week before I can get to know what happens next”.
Loved Ringer, it became my new favourite show. It was different than all the other shows.

Same goes for any other great tv show that gets cancelled. It’s like couldn’t someone just give a summary on their site or something just to give closure to those who actually watched the show lol
Case in point: Alf, Port Charles, Dollhouse, Flashforward, Invasion, Tru Calling, Etc etc
Obviously some of the shows I mentioned aren’t the greatest, but still I’d love to know the ending!
U know? I completely agree with u on Dollhouse and Tru Calling. I miss both shows so much. I rewatched both seasons of Dollhouse, and i was left with wanting more. There r no new shows on that r like these 3. They were a breath of fresh air in my opinion.

I absolutely loved the show and after watching the season finale I think it´s not fair how it ended if there´s not going to be a season number 2,why didn´t the writers figured out a better end?

I am soooooo upset! This was my favorite show!!! It had such a great storyline and so original. Very disappointed CW is not giving it a chance. They should have put it in a new time slot and renewed it. I hate it when they get us all excited an then cancel.
the show was so positively different from all the supernatural series now on air.. i loved buffy and charmed, but now there’s an overkill of those series.. too much of the same!! I loved Ringer.. sooo exciting, you could not wait for next week’s episode..

I’m as well disappointed about the cancellation of the ringer 🙁 I couldn’t watch it at the time it came on due to my late shift on Tuesdays but, I had always set my DVR so I would never miss an episode. I really enjoyed this show, one of the only shows I followed on a weekly basis. Such good plots and twists, always eager to see what will happen next, very disappointed!
