TBS is ramping up the late-night laughs. The Turner outlet has just ordered Rob Riggle’s Sportsbook TV series pilot. Deadline‘s Nellie Andreeva describes the weekly late-night TV show as focusing on “…showing the humor in the 24-hour digital cycle of sports, talk, news and entertainment, anchored from the ‘sports and entertainment capital of the world’: Las Vegas.”
According to the report, Riggle, who will host Rob Riggle’s Sportsbook, will also executive produce the Vegas-based show, with Chris Pizzi, Principato-Young, and IMG Original Content.
Here is more, from Deadline:
[Rob Riggle’s Sportsbook] aims to combine [Riggle’s] love of sports with his comedy and improvisational skills. During the NFL season, he does Riggle’s Picks, an SNL-esque weekly comedy segment that airs on Fox NFL Sunday. (you can watch a music parody from one of his segments below) [sic].

If Rob Riggle’s Sportsbook is ordered to series, Riggle will join his former Daily Show colleagues Samantha Bee and Jason Jones at the comedy-oriented TBS. Bee hosts the late-night show Full Frontal with Samantha Bee. In early April, TBS picked up the late night satirical news and talkshow through the end of 2016.
Bee and husband Jones executive produce the new TBS sitcom, The Detour, starring Jones and Natalie Zea, which was renewed for a second season, ahead of its April series premiere.
