As reported earlier today, the Rosewood TV show has been cancelled after two seasons on FOX. Now, stars Morris Chestnut and Jaina Lee Ortiz have responded to the cancellation. Check out their reactions, below.
A FOX police procedural, Rosewood centers on charming Miami pathologist, Dr. Beaumont Rosewood, Jr. (Chestnut) and Detective Annalise Villa (Ortiz). Gabrielle Dennis, Anna Konkle, Lorraine Toussaint, Domenick Lombardozzi, and Eddie Cibrian also star. The season two, and now Rosewood TV series finale episode, “Blistering Heat & Brotherly Love,” first aired on Friday, April 28, 2017.
Morris Chestnut on the Rosewood Cancellation
Taking to Instagram, Chestnut wrote:
I am very grateful about the part that everyone took in Rosewood’s journey, because everyone was truly an integral part; the writers who crafted great story-lines, the actors who brought these stories to life, the production crew who sustained the show’s infrastructure, and the terrific fans who embraced this phenomenon and became just as much a part of Rosewood as anyone else.
FOX provided a platform for a show that made strides in diversity and the images it projected, as all-inclusive. We were able to peer into the lives of characters who displayed their hopes, dreams, courage and fears. Rosewood also helped reinforce a newer definition of Family, as a group of people who most care for and support one another.
The #Rosewood family, itself was an Extremely Special group of people who’ll be friends forever.This is not only a part of the industry, it’s a part of life. Jaina Lee Ortiz Says Goodbye to Rosewood
Ortiz also posted to Instagram, saying:
Today is a special day. Today I say goodbye to my very first show, Rosewood.
I say goodbye to Detective Annalise Villa. Damn, I’m gonna miss that woman.
To my partner in crime/the guy who mentored me and showed me the ropes on set. The beautiful Morris Chestnut, and when I say beautiful, I mean his HEART, his SOUL. He is the most selfless person I think I’ve ever met. Kind and gracious.
Our rock. Our captain.
5 days a week, 14 hours a day, he became one of my best-friends.
Love you, Morrisito.
The cast…you’re my family.
To all the hardworking crew and writers… you showed me what “movie magic” was really made out of. It’s created on the backs of your hard work.
Last but not least, this show and it’s incredible characters were created by Todd Harthan. This guy said yes when everyone else told me no, and it has changed my life forever. I adore you. 💙
Gotta give a shoutout to all the fans who have supported and loved us from day 1. The love you expressed via social media for the characters and the story is something we will cherish forever.

This was a great show. Would love to see it come back, but please at least have one more episode where Rosie and Viaa get together
Bring it back, I just finished it today and the fact they left the Rosie Villa story on a cliff hanger does not sit well with me considering I have wanted them to be together since the start of the show. Please bring it back so their story can finish I want to know what he was going to say to her and we all know she wanted him to tell her to stay she’s always felt that way they just didn’t admit it. Fox has been messing up with there selections. Rosewood would have been there biggest show if they would have given it time. There advertising sucks, the show is amazing. Bring it back so the people can be happy.
I just started watching this series and fell in love with the show and the characters. Villa is my favorite but I love Rosie too. It would be amazing for them to start where they left off, I really don’t understand why they always cancel the best shows. It would be nice to see Villa and Rosie get together not only do they make an awesome duo at work but they make an amazing beautiful couple. Why do they cancel the best shows? This show is awesome and everyone enjoys it! Fox News you need to work on renewing series. This is BS I would pay to watch future series

I soooo hated this show got canceled! Just watched both seasons again, and reminded me how much I loved this show! Loved the cast. Still hoping for a season 3!
What a great show had so many people gripped and along for the ride including me! saddened by such a sudden end, such a shame.

I truly sadden that ROSEWOOD Ended at season 2. This show has such great Potential to go a long way. I hope Todd will reconsider and give us at least 8 more series! Fingers crossed!

This was one of my favorite shows to watch,very disappointed it was cancelled.
Please bring back this show! I just found it & now it’s over. We need a Villa/Rosie love season and more. So sad to see another good series gone too soon
