As reported earlier today, the Rosewood TV show has been cancelled after two seasons on FOX. Now, stars Morris Chestnut and Jaina Lee Ortiz have responded to the cancellation. Check out their reactions, below.
A FOX police procedural, Rosewood centers on charming Miami pathologist, Dr. Beaumont Rosewood, Jr. (Chestnut) and Detective Annalise Villa (Ortiz). Gabrielle Dennis, Anna Konkle, Lorraine Toussaint, Domenick Lombardozzi, and Eddie Cibrian also star. The season two, and now Rosewood TV series finale episode, “Blistering Heat & Brotherly Love,” first aired on Friday, April 28, 2017.
Morris Chestnut on the Rosewood Cancellation
Taking to Instagram, Chestnut wrote:
I am very grateful about the part that everyone took in Rosewood’s journey, because everyone was truly an integral part; the writers who crafted great story-lines, the actors who brought these stories to life, the production crew who sustained the show’s infrastructure, and the terrific fans who embraced this phenomenon and became just as much a part of Rosewood as anyone else.
FOX provided a platform for a show that made strides in diversity and the images it projected, as all-inclusive. We were able to peer into the lives of characters who displayed their hopes, dreams, courage and fears. Rosewood also helped reinforce a newer definition of Family, as a group of people who most care for and support one another.
The #Rosewood family, itself was an Extremely Special group of people who’ll be friends forever.This is not only a part of the industry, it’s a part of life. Jaina Lee Ortiz Says Goodbye to Rosewood
Ortiz also posted to Instagram, saying:
Today is a special day. Today I say goodbye to my very first show, Rosewood.
I say goodbye to Detective Annalise Villa. Damn, I’m gonna miss that woman.
To my partner in crime/the guy who mentored me and showed me the ropes on set. The beautiful Morris Chestnut, and when I say beautiful, I mean his HEART, his SOUL. He is the most selfless person I think I’ve ever met. Kind and gracious.
Our rock. Our captain.
5 days a week, 14 hours a day, he became one of my best-friends.
Love you, Morrisito.
The cast…you’re my family.
To all the hardworking crew and writers… you showed me what “movie magic” was really made out of. It’s created on the backs of your hard work.
Last but not least, this show and it’s incredible characters were created by Todd Harthan. This guy said yes when everyone else told me no, and it has changed my life forever. I adore you. 💙
Gotta give a shoutout to all the fans who have supported and loved us from day 1. The love you expressed via social media for the characters and the story is something we will cherish forever.

Love rosewood fox made big mistake
I loved this show. So much going on with the characters. Cancel game shows and reality shows. They require “no thinking or problem solving skills”.
One of the more mature shows on TV. Rosewood is a welcome change from the TV fairy tales. It didn’t have much chance in the Friday time slot.
Bring this great show back at a good time and let the layered stories develop.

PLEASE BRING ROSEWOOD BACK , IT’S MY BEST SHOW AND I’VE GOT A LOT OF MY FRIENDS WATCHING.
I love this show. The characters were real life not just same old story character but one’s that we can relate to. Also the ending of the show was so sad since everybody wanted to see Villa and Rosie get together especially if this was the end of the series. There were too many loose ends to end the series now we need closure to the show not cliffhangers. Please bring rosewood back and give it another chance instead of all the stupid reality garbage. Truly heartbroken.
I enjoyed this TV show immensely. I do not watch a lot of TV but this show was worth watching. I am saddened it was cancelled after 2 years it was a great show. Is there any chance of this show reappearing in different time slot. let’s bring it back.
I loved this show!!!! The relationship between this characters is heartwarming yet they do have their problems. The upbeat attitude Rosewood has while facing some very heavy medical problems is inspiring. His insight into helping solve cases is a gift. The chemistry between him and Vill is great! The cases they solve are very interesting. How can you cancel such a great show?
Rosewood is a wonderful & positive show. I do not think it should have been cancelled!! We need season 3!!
Not sure why they would cancel a great show like this. Such a great group of actors. Writers cover some great topics. Please do not let this happen.

What is the matter that the decent shows can’t get a break this sh0w was g00d and I want to follow up on the cliff hanger at the end of episode 22. Admit your mistake and bring back “ROSEWOO”.

I am so disappointed that Rosewood was cancelled. They could have at least given us a happy ending with Rosie and Villa. Come more Fox give it another chance.
