What’s This TV Show About?
An E! Entertainment primetime soap opera, The Royals stars Elizabeth Hurley, William Moseley, Alexandra Park, Jake Maskall, Tom Austen, Genevieve Gaunt, and Max Brown. The drama centers on a fictional British royal family, in modern day London. They inhabit a world of opulence that caters to their every desire, but one that also comes with a price tag of duty, destiny, and intense public scrutiny.
Season Four Ratings
The fourth season of The Royals is averaging a 0.16 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 401,000 viewers. Compared to season three, that’s down by 30% and 25%, respectively. Find out how The Royals stacks up against other scripted E! TV shows.

Telly’s Take
Will E! cancel or The Royals for season five? Back in December of 2017 though, the creator was fired in the wake of sexual misconduct allegations. Whether or not that affects this show’s chance to continue remains to be seen. The ratings have seen a significant drop but my sense is that E! wants to continue to dabble in the scripted TV business. I’ll update this page with breaking developments. Please dear God just at least let these wonderful actors at least have the satisfaction of airing the ends to what they’re worked for so hard. We are all looking for King Robert to be dethroned- it would be the perfect fairytale ending and it would give credence to the show’s psychological insights and depth of characters. To end it on this note is just a waste of precious talent and rick plot lines. It’s been a wonderful show. Please please don’t let it die on this extremely dissatisfying cliff hanger. I am so very sad that there won’t be a season 5! The Royals is an absolutely brilliant show with a fantastic cast! After obsessively binge watching all of the seasons on Amazon, I am devistated that it is all over without any closure(I feel so cheated). Hopefully, somehow it can still be scooped up and have many many more seasons in the future. Pleeeeease somebody make it happen!!!!!!!!
I loved the Royals it was my favorite show – so disappointed that they cancelled it – Very Sad!!! Actually I do not normally watch TV but never missed this show. Finally decided to google why it is not on anymore – Boooo hooo!!!!!!! Greatest show ever in my opinion!!!
The Royals was so enjoyable. It was the best thing on E. If the ratings went down it might have been the long wait between Season 3 and 4. The series had a top notch cast and the twists and turns kept us all waiting like cats to see what was about to happen next. The Royals made Sunday evenings sparkle, let’s not dim that light. Bring back The Royals.

The Royals is my guilty pleasure, I binge watched it all again over the weekend and desperately want to see what happens next. Fingers crossed it gets picked up for another season at least, it’s so much fun to watch.

Why not starting a new show, after 2 years of low rating – cancell and realise that you actually should have renewed this masterpiece for 5 season. Why should always cancell the best and who cares about the director, find new one and really hope renew for season 5. Its worth it!
Totally agree. Don’t punish these wonderful actors just because the Director was dodgy. Get your act together Producers- find a new one at least intelligently and dilligently wrap this up- give it the impressive ending all the impressive work that came before it deserves.
