Animation producers (and spouses) Allison Abbate and Tony Cervone recently stopped by the Radio Rashy podcast to talk with animation writer/producer Paul Dini and his wife, actress/magician Misty Lee.
A lot of the discussion revolved around Abbate’s work on Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie feature film but Cervone, who’s a supervising producer on Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated, mentioned the Cartoon Network series.
Cervone said, “There are 11 shows left that will finish the series off at 52 episodes. I’m not sure when they’re coming back. I never know when they’re coming back. If I had to guess, probably in the summer because it usually airs in the summer. But I can’t wait for these last 11 to get out for people to see them because they’re crazy.”
At 2011’s ComicCon, Cervone and fellow supervising producer Mitch Watson teased that events in the pilot episode would pay off in the 52nd episode. We now know that will be the series finale.
One of the most recent episodes, which aired last fall, featured appearances by classic Hanna-Barbera characters Blue Falcon, Dynomutt, Race Bannon, Doctor Benton Quest (Jonny’s scientist dad), and evil Doctor Zin. It turns out that Doctor Quest created the Dog Wonder!
Though Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated won’t be returning for a third season, it’s a safe bet that Scooby and the gang will return soon.
What do you think? Are you sorry to hear that the scho is coming to an end? What would you like to see in the last episode?
Bring back scooby doo myster incorporated it’s my favorite shoe I never missed an episode please I beg you
Please bring a season 3!!! I love this show!! Its not fair to just end it like this!
I loved the actual plot and storyline of the mysteries they put into mystery incorporated, I think what hurt them is the constant spot light being on Fred and Daphne being a couple which wasn’t too bad, but the worst was shaggy and Velma being a couple, having Scooby-Doo as a 3rd wheel. Scooby-Doo and Velma where always competing for shaggys affection. They were always jealous of each other. The show was way too focused on all that instead of the mysteries like it always has been and was supposed to be.
i mean why there shouldnt be a season 3 in scooby doo mystery incorporated? the catoon is awesome. they should think about this one more to add the final season 3. please prodeucers think about this.
SCOOBY DOO is a great person why are they done with him im not sure but its sad and it hurts me and all his friends some one else needs to care like i doooo aj.Its so sad
I’m 17, today I finished mystery incorporated, watched both seasons on Netflix. I can’t express how much I loved it, seeing how many fans are commenting for season 3 makes me really happy, so I thought I’d join. Please bring it back for season 3! be cool scooby doo just isn’t anywhere near as good as mystery incorporated!
Honestly tho, I watched it on netflix too and the storyline was amazing, the only thing I did not like was Velma and Shaggy being a couple, though I liked Fred and Daphne being together, be cool scooby doo sucks, i want a season 3 for mystery incorporated!
I am 17 and I’ve been watching scooby doo for as long as I can remember. I’ve seen every movie, TV series, and special up to date including the newer Be Cool Scooby Doo. In all of the years I’ve watched the show, never have I enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed the Mystery Incorporated series. The series had both matured while still holding that childish playfulness. The characters held depth and they developed as the show went on. I know this is just a comment on some website but I really hope that someone out there manages to… Read more »
The Scooby creators are so clever! they incorporated some really neat references to things like annuki in babylonian mythology. Scooby isn’t just a random kids cartoon! I am 14! I got my entire family to dress up like a character! PLEASE bring it back. Anyway, for all you fans out there, there is always the scooby originals and the “scooby dooby doo where are you” series, also the scrappy doo (scooby’s cousin) and the scooby doo olympic series.
I’m a mother of two awesome kids, and I am not ashamed to admit that I love watching Scooby Doo Mysteries Incorporated with them. Every other cartoon they watch drives me up the wall! Please for the love of GOD bring it back! I have never enjoyed a cartoon so much, the characters are so funny and interesting. I love how the writers have incorporated some humor adults can appreciate into each episode. It keeps me watching the show. My kids are so disappointed there aren’t any more episodes, they keep watching the same two seasons over and over. Please… Read more »

Hi, I am not a teenager anymore, I am actually 19, but when I first seen Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated come on Cartoon Network, I did not want to watch it, because they didn’t look like the regular gang, a bit more animated. But, I watched both seasons on Netflix a while back and I loved it. I am definitely waiting on a Season 3, please bring it back!
Please renew scoobydoo for season 4! 🙂
I’ve been a Scoobert fan ever since I was born, I’m 21, when my mother showed me all the originals. Trust me, there aren’t any bigger fans of the show than me and her. I would do anything to influence more seasons to this show, there are so many mysteries left to be solved. Let me know how to help.
Please make more seasons I’m 14 and I love it. I’ve watched episodes of mystery incorporated every day, was the only show I looked forward to.
So true!!
