Animation producers (and spouses) Allison Abbate and Tony Cervone recently stopped by the Radio Rashy podcast to talk with animation writer/producer Paul Dini and his wife, actress/magician Misty Lee.
A lot of the discussion revolved around Abbate’s work on Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie feature film but Cervone, who’s a supervising producer on Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated, mentioned the Cartoon Network series.
Cervone said, “There are 11 shows left that will finish the series off at 52 episodes. I’m not sure when they’re coming back. I never know when they’re coming back. If I had to guess, probably in the summer because it usually airs in the summer. But I can’t wait for these last 11 to get out for people to see them because they’re crazy.”
At 2011’s ComicCon, Cervone and fellow supervising producer Mitch Watson teased that events in the pilot episode would pay off in the 52nd episode. We now know that will be the series finale.
One of the most recent episodes, which aired last fall, featured appearances by classic Hanna-Barbera characters Blue Falcon, Dynomutt, Race Bannon, Doctor Benton Quest (Jonny’s scientist dad), and evil Doctor Zin. It turns out that Doctor Quest created the Dog Wonder!
Though Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated won’t be returning for a third season, it’s a safe bet that Scooby and the gang will return soon.

Best SC series. I’m not a cartoon lover but there is one thing. This cartoon series (Scooby doo! Mystery incorporated) made me more addictive. You see, When i was on my young age, 10 years old i think. This series was released on Cartoon network and the CN plays it around 7:30 in the morning which i cannot watch it because i have classes. BEST SCOOBY SERIES! I love them all and all movies, I’m 35 no kids and I looooove my scooby. There needs to be another season AT LEAST!! I don’t care how it starts whether crystal cove should be haunted or not but the way season 2 ended lets roll with it. The gang on the road going to the university solving mysteries and of course going back to crystal cove for Fred and Daphne’s wedding! I’m 27 my 4 year old son LOVES Scooby Doo! I agree this was the best Scooby Doo I’ve ever seen.
We have watched all 52 episodes as a before bedtime show. I want it to come back. It has to come back. PLEASE BE MORE!!!!

We don’t know what to watch now. I tried watching that Be Cool Scooby Doo but it’s garbage. We want classic Scoobert!
I’m 37 and this is, hands down, my favorite iteration of the Scooby Doo legend. My 2 year old son agrees too, so it spans the generations (He pronounces the show Dooooooooooooooo).
I am very disappointed that they ended this series, best scooby-doo series ever. It always left me wanting to watch more and it was actually kind of scary which made it all the more interesting. Please bring this show back!

Hello, this is exactly like what happened to me. When I was younger I had a liking for the show, but it kind of ended when we moved. A few years later(now) I got back into the show because I saw it on recommended on Netflix. I started to re-watch the show and I was immediately hooked in on it again.
