Telly’s Take
Based on the ratings, things already didn’t look good and then they started airing two episodes a night which smelled like a burnoff. The Viacom execs have been shuffling programs on their channels (including BET, CMT, TV Land, VH1, and MTV) so they may be okay with this big dip in the ratings as they try to establish the new Paramount Network. I’ll keep a hungry eye out and will update this page with breaking developments (and, hopefully, my supper plans). What do you think? Do you hope the The Shannara Chronicles TV show will be renewed for a third season? How do you feel about Spike/Paramount Network cancelling this TV series?
I will be very upset of there isn’t a 3rd season. Really enjoyed this show
I enjoyed the show and hope there will be a season 3 and beyond
Please please please bring Shannara back for another season! Great show!
I see nothing but good feedback everywhere I look and they say its because of ratings : I’d take chronicles over jive like Lucifer , BB , NC….. whatever , and etc any day its based on a book series means there’s some thought gone into it not just a kids plaything that somehow got Network approval . If I were in the game I’d not only pick it up I’d up the budget 3 fold and span out at least 7-8 seasons do a game of thrones thing.
I 100% love this show! It really needs to be returned for more than just one more season. Many more seasons. I love fantasy drama. I have read the Shannara books and loved each one. Shows like The Chronicles of Shannara delivers fantastic stories action and romance that is only found on few programs. Its better than Once shows. It deserves another season. Story is awesome the acting is excellent and the action and directing is wonderful. I only recently found the Shannara Chronicles and I know if more people new about them the ratings would be sky high. Advertise… Read more »
Really want a season 3, and there is plenty of material and fans to enjoy it!!
I hope there is a reconsideration to the cancellation of this series. I was impressed with the first season and more impressed with the second. Quite honestly the hype preceding the series was not there… furthermore, it appeared Spike TV didn’t care if it failed…I hope someone who believes in great entertainment picks it up! The Lord of the Rings trilogy proves there are people out there who love fantasy and the Shannara series is a fantasy worth the effort to satisfy the hunger!
Loved this series and can’t wait to see more
Love the show and need to see more of this series. Love all the actors.
Yes, yes, yes, please find a network for a season 3! If you like science fiction this is a show that should carry on somewhere…
I really hope they continue the series! I love this show!!!
I’m so disappointed to hear they not renewing 3rd season….my son and I watch it together… we love the show
Renew for more seasons, love the books… some much more to the story. Try Freeform or Netflix to air it. Plz plz oh plz
Spike? really? Most people were waiting for this show on MTV and found it later on Netflix but it is not the show that caused the drop in viewing.. it was that no one could find it… garbage marketing for a great show.
Perhaps if they had kept it on MTV, it would have been watched… poor marketing not a poor show was the issue here…. I knew people waiting for it but only found it on Netflix after the fact. Season 2 was great.
