The Sleepy Hollow TV show was cancelled, yesterday. Now, co-creator Phillip Iscove, has shared his feelings about the show, making sure to thank the cast, crew, and fans for the supernatural series’ four season run. He’s not alone, either. Actor Phillip Mears is also reaching out, in the wake of the news that there will be no Sleepy Hollow, season five.
A historical fantasy drama, Sleepy Hollow stars Tom Mison as Ichabod Crane. The FOX cast also includes: Janina Gavankar, Lyndie Greenwood, Jerry MacKinnon, Rachel Melvin, Oona Yaffe, Jeremy Davies, and John Noble. After star Nicole Beharie departed the series at the end of season three, the possibility of even a fourth season was up in the air, so their gratitude is a lovely grace note.
Co-Creator Phillip Iscove Responds to the Sleepy Hollow Cancellation
In a series of tweets, Iscove, who created Sleepy Hollow, along with Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, and Len Wiseman, wrote:
It’s a sad day but in the end #SleepyHollow was an absolute dream for me…
From the bottom of my heart, thank you to every actor, writer, director, producer and incredible crew on all their endless hard work.
But it’s the fans that made the show truly come alive and to them I owe the biggest debt. Thank you so much! I love all the #Sleepyheads!!

What do you think? Did you watch the fourth and final season of the Sleepy Hollow TV series? Should it have been cancelled or renewed for season five on FOX?
I am also done with Fox TV network. I have been a fan of Sleepy Hollow since season 1, episode one. WHAT potential the series had had it been allowed to continue. A true disappointment that this incredible series was cancelled.
They have to make way for Marvel programs much like the CW does with their DC comic book programs. I will miss Sleepy Hollow. I thought this past season’s reboot was exciting.
I’m so done with the FOX TV network. They put on some really great programs, keep them on long enough for you to get hooked, & then pull the rug out from under you by canceling them. They never gave the new cast a chance in last season’s “reboot.” It looked like it would have been even better than before. Bye-bye FOX!
I had cancelled it off my to watch list earlier.
I will not watch FOX !!!!!! Sleepy Hollow was a great show. WTF why do they cancel the good ones ???
It should have been renewed, I will miss it so much! It is the only show I watch on TV. So terribly sad…
I was a little concerned that the show was becoming a little formulaic as they began a run of monster of the week episodes. But the original two seasons had a wonderful edge and a really unique blend of history, religion, mystery, the supernatural and horror that I found fascinating. If the network execs cancelled the shows due to ratings, they can look in the mirror for the part their scheduling did to stunt that growth. The producers should have skipped the child inheritor of Abbey’s witness mantle and shifted that burden directly to the teen in the present. They… Read more »
So sorry to hear this! I have been a fan thru all 4 seasons and was hoping for more.
To the point, the show should have been renewed.! Please reconsider your decision.
I loved this show…I loved every aspect of it. I will miss it dearly. I’m not happy that it was cancelled…..I believe it had many more fabulous stories to tell. Tom Mison was truly amazing….
I totally agree. Friday was a wrong move for SH. Why doesn’t Netflix snag up Sleepy Hollow? I admit that losing Abbie was a disappointment. The new witness as a tween didn’t cut it. But a grown up Lara from the future made a Formidable ally to Team Ichabod. Most definitely loved the new peeps from Washington DC.
Gosh, stop cancelling our shows! So mad & dissppointed
I think if the Season 4 cast had been around all 4 seasons the show would have gotten renewed and had a bigger following.
I would have loved for this show to have been renewed. Of all the cancellations this year, this show is the one I lament the most. Thanks for the four years!
I think it stinks that Sleep Hollow was canceled. The network earmarked the series death when they moved it to Friday night, but still I watched it because it was good. Doesn’t really want me to get used to watching any other series on this network. Maybe it’s time the fans start canceling networks?
I totally agree. Friday nite is a death trap. The new Witness from the future, Lara, was a perfect fix to bring back team Ichabod. I loved the new group from DC. They came back to Sleepy Hollow only to leave us fans “up in the air”! So mad that they cancelled. Why can’t Netflix pick up SH? So upset
Fans already can cancel networks. Stop watching their shows! Or stage a rally like they did for Star trek to bring the show back!!
Between the cancellation of Rosewood and Sleepy Hollow, I won’t be watching much on FOX anymore. Keep it up, FOX, and you’ll be losing all your viewers.
I loved Sleepy Hollow. I am going to miss it.
