Is Khan getting his own TV show? According to Geek Exchange, Star Trek writer Nicholas Meyer is possibly developing a new series based on the iconic villain.
Meyer directed and co-wrote Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, the 1982 film that saw James T. Kirk (William Shatner) face off against Khan Noonien Singh (Ricardo Montalban), a genetically engineered superhuman who first appeared in Star Trek: The Original Series.
Though Meyer is currently working as a writer for CBS All Access’ upcoming series Star Trek: Discovery, he is rumored to be leaving the show for a new limited series involving Khan. Meyer has not confirmed the news, but we’ll post updates as they become available.
What do you think? Are you a Star Trek fan? Would you watch a Khan TV show?
I would watch the hell out of a Khan series. But, as this article is 5 years old I’m assuming it never got off the ground. *Sigh* Woulda been great.
It’s apparently not too early for execs to begin planning for Discovery’s impending failure (things really aren’t looking good). A Khan-centric series does have appeal.
Ricardo was perfect as Khan, Corinthian leather and all.
I prefer a sexy hot babe lead charachter.
