Star Wars: Underworld has been in the planning stages for nearly 10 years, and some fans wondered if the move to Disney would put an end to the plans for the Lucasfilm live action Star Wars series.
Well, with Star Wars: The Force Awakens hitting theaters on Thursday night, someone asked for an update on the live action series. They received one too, and the force is still strong for Star Wars: Underworld.
According to Slash Film, Lucasfilm is still looking at bringing that series to life. Kathleen Kennedy from Lucasfilm said the following about the project:
“No. No, interestingly enough, thats an area we’ve spent a lot of time, reading through the material that he developed is something we very much would like to explore. Our attitude is, we don’t want to throw any of that stuff away. It’s gold. And it’s something we’re spending a lot of time looking at, pouring through, discussing, and we may very well develop those things further. We definitely want to.”
George Lucas was strongly behind the live action series. He saw a series with 400 episodes, and he wrote 100 of them already.
Perhaps a successful film will help push this small screen project forward. Do you want to see Star Wars action on your small screen? Tell us what you think.
I want to see it.
