Michael Offer has been chosen to direct ABC‘s Still Star-Crossed TV show pilot from Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers’ production company of the same name. A sequel to Romeo and Juliet, Still Star-Crossed is based on the Melinda Taub novel.
Offer also directed the pilot for How to Get Away with Murder and the reshoot of the new Of Kings and Prophets TV series pilot. Scandal‘s Heather Mitchell is set as writer.
Here is how Deadline describes Still Star-Crossed:
Set in 16th century Verona, it picks up where William Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet left off, charting the treachery, palace intrigue and ill-fated romances of the Montagues and Capulets in the wake of the young lovers’ tragic fate. Mitchell, Rhimes, Beers and Michael R. Goldstein executive produce for ABC Studios.
