TV show description:      
This comedy series follows Vernon Brownmule (Billy Ray Cyrus), aka “Burnin’ Vernon”. He’s a scandal-ridden, washed-up, one-hit-wonder who was kicked out of country music. He emerges 20 years later as the second best Elvis impersonator around.

After crashing into an old country church sign during a drunken bender, Vernon is arrested and sentenced to return and serve as the church’s handyman as part of his parole.

Along the way, he pretends to be the congregation’s new minister and reconnects with a former one-night-stand, Debbie Lynn Cooke (Joey Lauren Adams). She’s the fiery and feisty single mother of Vernon’s previously-unknown 15-year-old daughter, Charlotte (Madison Iseman).

Smart, sarcastic and witty, Charlotte has her world turned upside down when she meets the dad she never knew. She’s reluctant to let Vernon into her life. Ronnie (Jon Sewell), Debbie’s live-in boyfriend, is none too pleased to see him either. His one dream in life is to own a boat.

Vernon’s accomplice, Walt (Travis Nicholson), has agreed to help Vernon con the church congregation. His father played with Vernon during his heyday.

Curtis (Leslie David Baker) is the blind caretaker of the church. Mitch Doily (Kevin Farley) is Vernon’s parole officer and his biggest fan.

Vernon’s manager for Elvis gigs is Starman (Justin Dray). While he yearns to be successful in the music business, he actually only represents impersonators. Starman works out of a model RV on his family’s RV Sales lot and takes an “industry standard” 23.7% of his client’s earnings.
