USA Network has announced that they’re renewed their Suits TV show for a fifth season. The 16 new episodes will start airing next summer.
Like all of USA’s scripted series, Suits is down in the ratings this season but it remains the cable channel’s top-rated show. The fourth season finale will air on August 20th.
Here are the renewal details:
USA NETWORK RENEWS HIT SERIES “SUITS” FOR FIFTH SEASON TO PREMIERE SUMMER 2015
Summer Finale Airs Wednesday, August 20 at 9/8c
NEW YORK – August 11, 2013 – USA Network announced today a 16-episode fifth season renewal of the hit original drama SUITS. Currently airing its fourth season, SUITS continues to be a top 10 summer scripted series in P18-49 (1.6 million), P25-54 (1.7 million), and total viewers, averaging nearly 4 million. The midseason finale is scheduled for Wednesday, August 20 at 9/8c.
“SUITS continues to fire on all cylinders, delivering provocative storytelling and complex characters that viewers can’t get enough of,” said Chris McCumber, President of USA Network. “With some of the best writing on television, and a brilliant ensemble cast, we anticipate a spectacular fifth season for a series that has become a marquee property for USA.”
SUITS centers on a fast-paced Manhattan corporate law firm led by legendary lawyer Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht, “Love and Other Drugs”). This season saw a major shift at the firm that left Harvey at odds with his brilliant, but not-technically-legal associate Mike Ross (SAG Award nominee Patrick J. Adams, “Rosemary’s Baby”) who left to head to Wall Street as an investment banker. As the series builds to its summer finale, Mike has returned to Pearson Specter to resume his place beside Harvey, but Louis’ (Rick Hoffman, “Samantha Who”) secret threatens to unravel the firm. The series also stars Gina Torres (“Firefly”), Sarah Rafferty (“Brothers & Sisters”) and Meghan Markle (“Fringe”).
Seasons one through three of SUITS can be found on Amazon Prime while fans can catch up on the fourth season via video-on-demand.
From Universal Cable Productions, SUITS was created and is executive produced by Aaron Korsh (“The Deep End”). Doug Liman (COVERT AFFAIRS, the “Bourne” trilogy, “Mr. and Mrs. Smith”),David Bartis (COVERT AFFAIRS, “The O.C.”) and Gene Klein (COVERT AFFAIRS) of Hypnotic also serve as executive producers. SUITS is shot on location in Toronto, ON.

What do you think? Are you glad to hear that Suits has been renewed? How long can this show realistically run?
Dialog is much smarter without the profanity
Great show. This and other good cable shows, better than network, simply have too much time between seasons
Why is that. Start to lose interest. Is it to hook us for the 2-4 weeks of re-runs to remember what was going on? Make more episodes please. At least this one is 16 episodes.
Thrilled to hear the show is returning. Smartest show on tv.
Pearson Specter Litt? Not for long! Louis is gonna take one in the back and the perpetrator….. The Connecticut State Pistol Champion, Donna! That’s my prediction as to how Season 4 ends.
To be honest, I love Suits, it’s one of my favorite shows airing today, but I cannot stand Louis Litt’s character anymore. He’s the type of person you just want to punch in the face to make yourself feel better about who you are.
If Rick Hoffman (Louis Litt) won’t be returning, I won’t be watching. He was the best thing about the show!
Love the show but is it necessary for such educated characters to use such profanity such as gd & ****?
Couldn’t agree with you more, Carolyn. Sure seems like the recent spate of profanity is gratuitous and totally unnecessary. Such language only gets in the way of great writing.
My favorite show! The reason I stay at home every Wednesday night!! But I can’t wait until next summer!! Please expedite the premiere!!
SO pleased that it’s been renewed! One of our fave shows! =D
Love Suits!! Can go on forever.
This is awesome!
Love Suits and the characters, but this last season’s plot was written by a committee of lawyers. Waaaaaay too complicated. Please don’t do that again.
MY HUSBAND AND I ARE ON THE EDGE OF OUR SEATS EACH AND EVERY WEEK. WE CAN’T WAIT FROM WEEK TO WEEK TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS.
WE ARE ECSTATIC TO FIND THAT SUITS WILL BE RETURNING IN 2015.
SINCERELY THE MALOTTS
This show had an interesting premise, but it didn’t take long for it devolve into a melodramatic soap opera.
Good news… great show!
