Episode 15 – Who will be left behind?
With a tsunami on the way, Wilmington, NC residents (like Miles and his family) are being forced to evacuate the island.
Laura travels to find Rich who has been arrested by military police at the mysterious laboratory. As the lab employees evacuate the building, he’s locked in a cell and left to die.
Miles’ girlfriend Caitlin has gone missing and he goes back to find her. With the help of Nim, Miles eventually finds her unconscious on the side of the road. As they try to escape the tsunami by car, they run into Laura and Rich who have escaped from the lab. They run out of gas and flee to a church just as a giant wave come towards them.
Inside the church, Laura and Miles see a big creature swimming around in the water. As a second wave comes crashing in, they make it up to the roof of the church. On the roof, the four look out over a flooded city and Laura says, “It’s a whole new world.”
The show was cancelled and there’s been news of any plans to finish the story. The DVD set includes deleted scenes but no closure.

Loved this show, could not stop watching it. It leaves you wanting…..wanting….more!! Please at least give us an ending.
I have watched this series 2x now. It is actually quite intriguing. Sure wish they’d start it again (with a better main actor boy) and allow it to live longer than one season. Perhaps the advertising or placement of the show during the night wasn’t great enough for the audience to get their teeth sunk into it, but as a sci-fi buff.. if done right, it could soar to lower depths.. of water that is. Come on.. give it another chance!
Surface had me disappointed . I thougth it was great at the beginning but later it became boring. I don’t know how, but it’s true.
I watched this show faithfully when it was originally on. I absolutely loved it!!! I was appalled that they cancelled it. I really wished they would bring it back on and bring closure to the show. Give it the ending it deserves.
Just watched on Netflix – couldn’t stop watching – really kept my interest. I went on the Internet to see if the Second Season was available, but to my distress it was cancelled. I am hardly a regular TV series watcher – actually never, but this series really caught my interest. Really too bad it was cancelled – should have been given a Second season chance.
Nim for president 2012!!!
I watched the show when it first aired but missed most of it because of a hectic work schedule now I am able to watch reruns on imdb. It was a great show and very original. I was surprised to learn that it was cancelled due to poor ratings. Anyway, I wish the networks would bring it back so, there would be some kind of closure. I am hoping that Nim save’s the day by educating the big monsters that humans are friends not food….lol.
ouh it would be wonderful if the show was continued~!
i hope the creator of this show have a caring heart to resume the movie~!
I watched the show when it was on TV and I just finished watching the DVD set this week. It was really a good show. It’s too bad the creators of the series don’t come out with a follow-up tv movie to tie up the events. Were the families reunited? Did the creatures take over? Where’s Jackson? Did Nim remain a good creature? Just some closure would be good.
no fair they brought back Jericho. they could even do a mini series some kind of closure.
Bring it back
I never had a chance to watch the show when it was airing. I just got sick and watch the whole 15 episode in one day. It is such a great show. I couldn’t stop watching it. I really do wish they bring back the show. I feel like I am hanging.
I want to see what happened after the 15 episode this really sucks they get a real good show and leave people hanging like this. that’s not right ! get rid of some of the day time soaps they are totally worthless and bring back SURFACE. only loosers with no life would sit and enjoy soaps . who cares about bob sleeping with jan or tony doind his freinds wife and on thats all soaps are. who do we writer to and tell tehm we want SURFACE back ?
Typical int it….. I watched the series right up until the last one when my video recorder went on the blink…..so I missed the last episode….AGGGH!!!
Can’t tell you how disappointed I was.
(Had to tape the show cos it was on so late at night, no good when you have to be up early for work the next day, but why so late?)
Wait….video recorder??:)
Anyways, loved the show!!
We loved this show so very much. It was one of the best in the last two decades. We would love to see it come back. Will it ever be remade or come back again. Like I said my husband and I really loved this show and could never figure out why it never came back. It was the most interesting. We do not like the reality shows or the show that compete with each other. It is time for something different like “Surface”. Please come back again.
