TV show description:
This drama centers on the appearance of mysterious sea creatures in the deep ocean, and the lives of naval officers in the South Antarctic Sea, a family in North Carolina, scientists from the Oceanographic Institute in Monterey, and fishermen in the Gulf of Mexico.
The seemingly innocent creatures they find are beautiful but full of surprises. As the story develops, we discover what truly is lurking under the sea.
Characters include California oceanographer Laura Daughtery (Lake Bell), North Carolina teen Miles Barnett (Carter Jenkins), Louisiana Insurance claim adjuster Richard Connelly (Jay R. Ferguson), and Evolutionary biologist Dr. Aleksander Cirko (Rade Serbedzija).
Episode 15 – Who will be left behind?
With a tsunami on the way, Wilmington, NC residents (like Miles and his family) are being forced to evacuate the island.
Laura travels to find Rich who has been arrested by military police at the mysterious laboratory. As the lab employees evacuate the building, he’s locked in a cell and left to die.
Miles’ girlfriend Caitlin has gone missing and he goes back to find her. With the help of Nim, Miles eventually finds her unconscious on the side of the road. As they try to escape the tsunami by car, they run into Laura and Rich who have escaped from the lab. They run out of gas and flee to a church just as a giant wave come towards them.
Inside the church, Laura and Miles see a big creature swimming around in the water. As a second wave comes crashing in, they make it up to the roof of the church. On the roof, the four look out over a flooded city and Laura says, “It’s a whole new world.”
The show was cancelled and there’s been news of any plans to finish the story. The DVD set includes deleted scenes but no closure.

It’s just terrible that these TV companies don’t give us at least a mini-series or even one extended final episode to attempt to bring at least some closure to the series. Even if it feels rushed thrown together, it’s better than nothing.
OK I absolutely loved this Show and it’s such a shame that it won’t be continued. I was really looking forward to Miles meeting Rich and Daughtery but when they finally did it was only for like 5 mins because it left on a big cliffhanger :[ Is Jackson alright, is he alive? Where is Kessler and how is he still alive? How many more experiments are there? Are Miles parents and Savannah still alive? Does Miles act up like Nimrod while Rich and Daughtery are with them? Just watched Surface on Netflix and very much enjoy! I would prefer it at a 2nd season be made even if it is 10 years later to finish all the plot lines

i watched this series in my country like 8 years ago..it end just like that at ep15..i thought there was 2nd season and i waited like a hell..i just know it was cancelled today..it was a great series ive ever seen..hope there is season 2..

Think there is Alot of people would like to have at less on more season. PLEASE THANK YOU. Just finished watching my DVDs they can just stay on top of the church. Please again do another season.
The one thing that really bothered me is that the could not even get the simplest things correct. Mammals breast feed!!!! This creature lays eggs and leaves them and then the scientist called it a mammal because it had a digestive track.
This show aired on my 14th birthday and has been a huge part of my childhood. I still love this series even to this day. It is a great film and I constantly show it to my friends and family. Everyone I show it to has been hooked and always ask when is the next season. It breaks my heart to hear that there isn’t another one. Please bring it back.
Maybe the solution is ending the series with a book : the big finale in a novel
