Although she thinks she has landed in a safe place, with a reliable income, Tess quickly gets caught up in the high-energy chaos of the big city dining scene, where she joins a chosen family of her co-workers. 7/13/18 update: Starz has renewed Sweetbitter for a second season. Details here.
Fantastic! Cannot wait for Season 2!
The characters are so well written, the story line is just complex enough to keep you enthralled. I love Sasha and Will and even Simone and Tess is so honest and brave – perfect main character.
I simply cannot wait to devour another episode of Sweetbitter…the show has hooked me and I cant get enough…half hour is not enough time to tell this captivating story…..
Completely agree with you take on this series. If you ever held any position from bussing, wait staff, chef, bartender in a fast pace restaurant you can relate to this(especially if it was a time in your life when you were discovering yourself). I love from the book that this is based on how the author compares a well flowing restaurant to a well choreographed dance. Hope enough people see the genius in this series and keep it around. Perfect casting!!!
I’m enjoying the series very much. It’s coming of age story that takes place in a fast paced New York fine dining establishment. It’s edgy but wise. It’s well written, acted, and it seems realistic! I look forward to it’s renewal!
No! It’s boring and too white for tv nowadays. Starz should know better by now than to try something like this. Literally only one black girl and we barely see her. Not likely to get renewed.
