TV show description:
It’s summer in 1976. Changes are happening in the U.S. of A. as it celebrates its Bicentennial.
Making a change in their own lives are stockbroker Bruce Miller (Jack Davenport) and his wife, Susan (Molly Parker), who move to a much more posh neighborhood in Chicago. New neighbors Tom and Trina Decker (Grant Show and Lana Parrilla) aren’t quite like anyone the Millers knew in their old neighborhood. The Decker’s open marriage and lifestyle raise the eyebrows of the Millers and their old friends, Roger and Janet Thompson (Josh Hopkins and Miriam Short).
Janet’s dislike of the Millers’ new swingin’ companions is palpable while Roger only hides his curiosity in order to please his wife. The tension between the former neighbors also causes a rift between the friendship of their sons, Bruce “B.J.” Miller (Aaron Howles) and Rick Thompson (Nick Benson).
While the couples experience the changing values of the decade, and the shifting dynamics of their relationships, the Millers’ teenage daughter, Laurie (Shanna Collins), is also testing the waters with her philosophy teacher, Doug Stephens (Michael Rady).
As the characters’ lives become more and more intertwined, they also become more complicated. Can their relationships with their spouses and friends swing forward or will they just spin out of control?

why do they do keep “canceling” all the good shows for the parents, who wants to watch people blow each other up, but that is all they put on tv, for our kids and us the adults to watch, I enjoyed the relating to my past and the sex and the whole show!!! But no we have some jerk offs making decisions for the american people again!! That’s how we keep getting into trouble!! Now we need the Fx channel or someone to pick it up and run it! Please for everyone over the age of 18 and with a… Read more »
Why do they leave all the “beat em up, rip your heart out shows WITH NO PLOT!!!, It PISSES me off to no end that they remove “cancel” all the DECENT”
another great show cancelled! please pick it up on another network! Even if it’s on the soap opera channel then I would subscribe to it.
All the girls in the office (some husbands too) LOVED this show. Before canceling any show they should get a chance to be on during rating times. Having it debut in the summer is okay but not to say the numbers were low and yank it. Put it on again and see what happens. It was a different kind of show like nothing else on like it and it would have a following if given the chance. Please try again or at the least another network. This can’t be gone forever!!!
I’m getting really tired of my favorite shows being cancelled & this is just another example!! I guess this show is just to risque for primetime so why don’t they just move it to another network where people can enjoy this program & not have an any inhibitions just like the premise of the show?? I mean after all this is 2009 & the show is based in the 70’s when pretty much anything was “on the table”.
Just when I think I have a new favorite, it gets yanked from the schedule. I would HOPE that Bravo would want to run a second season, as they purchased the rights to air season one. Please, help!
i’m beyond disappointed. My sister and I loved this show. It was not about morals, but strictly a good story line based on adults lives in that era. I’m 45 and I see nothing wrong with this show being on tv. However, it would really be great on HBO or another channel. People who were offended by this show should have simply NOT watched it. People have CHOICES. Nobody should push their values or beliefs on others. I’m watching the Pilot episode again right now ! I hope that maybe this show will come back for another season. MAYBE if… Read more »
Why are they canceling? That is BS! Why watch CBS anymore they cancel all of the good shows. Swingtown made my Friday night! Bring it back!
I loved this show. CBS had disappointed me yet again with another show cancellation. And they wonder why nobody watches. Cause if you do, watch it will be canceled. The solution is not to cancel every show out there.
they cancelle swingtown, but keep a dumb show like family guy. like someone said if you dont like the show change channel. i,m pissed that it wont be on. then they should cancelle all soaps then , there way worse.
I love this show and I am looking forward to the next season.
I absolutely LOVED this show. It was smart, and the actors were all extremely talented. I was just checking to see when it was coming on again to find out it had been cancelled. This is terribly dissapointing.
They seem to cancel all the good shows and keep all the reality crap. I agree, don’t like it change the channel
It is like they say about ant other show…if you dont like it change the channel.I am 42 years old and dont really need some pruds telling me what i can and can not watch. I wonder what would happen if we complained about their religous shows cause quit frankly i find them terriably annoying. Instead of trying to control the world around me i simply CHANGE THE CHANNEL”””
i think that is gay they wont air the show any more people need to grow up and get over it or dont watch it its life so shut the **** up and stop runing things for other people
