What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the FX cable channel, Taboo follows adventurer James Keziah Delaney (Tom Hardy). In 1814, he returns to London after spending 10 years in Africa. Upon his arrival, he finds that his father has died. Now, James is line to inherit what is left of the family shipping empire. This fact unnerves his half‐sister Zilpha (Oona Chaplin), her husband Thorne Geary (Jefferson Hall), and the chair of the mighty East India Company, Sir Stuart Strange (Jonathan Pryce). Taboo also stars Stephen Graham, Michael Kelly, Jessie Buckley, David Hayman, Tom Hollander, Jason Watkins, Franka Potente, Ed Hogg, Leo Bill, Christopher Fairbank, Richard Dixon, Mark Gatiss, Nicholas Woodeson, Lucian Msamati, and introduces Robert Parker.
Season One Ratings

Telly’s Take
Despite being described as a mini-series, Taboo co-creator Steven Knight has said he has plans for three seasons. Although the Taboo ratings are decent for an FX series, they’re a bit weak for a first season show. While Taboo doesn’t approach the numbers of top performers American Crime Story and American Horror Story, after them, it is one of the stronger shows on FX. Since Taboo is a co-production with BBC One (which defrays the cost), it is not a big surprise that Taboo has been renewed for a second season.

Best show on tv. If it’s not renewed I will be pissed. “I have a use for you!” Is the best line ever. Compelling gripping and a true masterpiece.

Taboo is “Hell On Wheels” on a double dose of Steriods…James Hardy is perfect for this role he OWNS it…SERIOUSLY THOUGH IF “TABOO” DOESN’T RETURN FOR A 2nd AND/OR A 3rd SEASON, I WILL MAKE IT MY MISSION TO NEVER WATCH FX AGAIN!!! OR PROMOTE ANOTHER FX SERIES…UNLESS “TABOO” IS COMING BACK!!!

This was one of best tv series I have ever watched! My husband and I were glued to every episode. So well written. We can’t wait for season 2. I’m actually sad it’s over for the season. Tom Hardy was amazing, best acting I have seen in years, couldn’t get enough. Bravo!

What a excellent piece of story telling, always an unexpected twist.
RENEW TABOO … the story has depth and draws you in, the details and cast of characters are exception and Tom Hardy’s deep dive portrayal of James Kaziah Delaney is exquisite. This, by far, is the best in quality of what is currently showcased on television.
