NBC‘s new Wednesday night series Taxi Brooklyn has an unusual premise — but sometimes that’s what it takes to become a hit show these days. How’s the series been doing in the ratings? Will it be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
Taxi Brooklyn follows Cat Sullivan (Chyler Leigh), a tough NYPD Detective who doesn’t let a demotion to foot patrol stop her from trying to find her father’s killer. She finds an unlikely ally in Leo Romba (Jacky Ido), a taxi driver from Marseille. The rest of the cast includes James Colby, Jose Zuniga, Jennifer Esposito, Bill Heck, Ally Walker, and Raul Casso.

This police series got off to a lackluster start at the end of June with the first episode drawing just a 1.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 5.34 million viewers. The ratings have gone up and down over the course of the season but have trended downward. Last week’s episode hit a new low with a 0.7 demo rating and just 4.42 million viewers.
Ordinarily, numbers like these would mean that a show would be cancelled outright. However, NBC licenses this show from EuropaCorp Television so their costs are lower. While it seems likely that NBC will cancel Taxi Brooklyn, EuropaCorp could potentially produce a second season and find another US outlet to air it.

I is a shame that you all do that to people get get them watching a movie that is great then cancel the move you all do that a lot maybe people should quit watching NBC
I thought is was going to be stupid. But the series is amazing, what an ending. Is Romba going to save his son and ex-wife? Who all is actually dead? Are they still pursuing Cat for murder? What happened with the dead girl in her cousins room? Is her mom really dead? It a lot that has to be answered you can’t just end the show and leave us hanging.
i just watched the season 1 on Netflix…it would be crazy not to have another series…im crushed…i love that show!
I like the series. Just watched the entire season 1 on Netflix. It’ll be a shame if there isn’t a season 2. That’ll be the second series that will leave me hanging. That series being Breakout Kings, which I thought was great.
NBC is notorious for cancelling great shows like this that you have to wonder just how stupid the executives are who are running the place. This is one of the more watchable police shows on television and not letting people know about it via a little bit of advertising is in itself a crime. Hopefully a smarter and more hip (because we all know NBC top brass have their collective heads shoved in a place where the sun doesn’t shine) network or one like Netflix or cable one will grab this great show.
This is one of the best shows I’ve watch it on Netflix- hope it gets renewed so I can watch it weekly. Whatever is wrong with NBC???? Why didn’t they advertise the show – I’ve never heard of it before Netflix.
I found this show browsing on Netflix and I love it. The cliffhanger was amazing & you just want to watch more to find out want happens, there should be a second season
I hope all these comments help bring this show back. I never heard of it before . . . fortunately, I was browsing Netflix and stumbled on it. I watched the entire series in a few days. How can a show of this caliber not be advertised? Shame on you NBC. I loved watching the relationship evolve between the two leads. I am hoping another network picks up this series as I so want to know what happens next.

I didn’t follow the show week to week, I didn’t knew the show was around… Until I came across it on Netflix… I simply LOVE the show… I LOVED THE STORY LINE, THE ACTION, THE COMEDY, THE DRAMA….. PLEASE BRING THE SHOW BACK…

i just can’t believe Taxi Brooklyn was cancelled, we all get together like a football game and watch it. It was very entertaining. It would have been a big hit, I wish someone pick it up,
I found this show by browsing Netflix. The network has done a stellar job at not advertising or promoting this show enough. I am certain that if more people knew the show existed, more people would watch it. This show is as good as Law and Order or NCIS. If I had known what network it was on and what time slot it was in, it would have been on my weekly must see list. That list only has two shows on it currently.
