NBC‘s new Wednesday night series Taxi Brooklyn has an unusual premise — but sometimes that’s what it takes to become a hit show these days. How’s the series been doing in the ratings? Will it be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
Taxi Brooklyn follows Cat Sullivan (Chyler Leigh), a tough NYPD Detective who doesn’t let a demotion to foot patrol stop her from trying to find her father’s killer. She finds an unlikely ally in Leo Romba (Jacky Ido), a taxi driver from Marseille. The rest of the cast includes James Colby, Jose Zuniga, Jennifer Esposito, Bill Heck, Ally Walker, and Raul Casso.

This police series got off to a lackluster start at the end of June with the first episode drawing just a 1.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 5.34 million viewers. The ratings have gone up and down over the course of the season but have trended downward. Last week’s episode hit a new low with a 0.7 demo rating and just 4.42 million viewers.
Ordinarily, numbers like these would mean that a show would be cancelled outright. However, NBC licenses this show from EuropaCorp Television so their costs are lower. While it seems likely that NBC will cancel Taxi Brooklyn, EuropaCorp could potentially produce a second season and find another US outlet to air it.
But, what do you think? Do you like the Taxi Brooklyn TV show? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a second season? Would you watch it on another channel?
I hope this is coming back for a second series – I enjoyed it.
I really like the show. The chemistry between the leads, the supporting cast, the story of the week and the overarching story of who killed the star’s father are all interesting to me. I hope it is renewed, and I will follow it to another channel if necessary.
I really enjoyed the show it was funny and and serious I enjoyed her running around with the taxi driver they made a good pair was interested if they’re able to find her fathers killer it seems like every time a good program comes on they take it off sure hope it returns
Sorry, I meant to say Taxi Brooklyn not Taxi New York. See how upset I am that the show is being canceled!!!!
I just finished watching season one of Taxi New York on Netflix and loved the show. I can’t believe NBC is canceling this show. I was really looking forward to season two.
I sure hope Netflix or one of the other networks picks up this show and runs with it. The show has a unique chemistry and Cat and Leo are great team. I was glued to my iPad for two days. Thanks Netflix, you always manage to keep me entertained.
Loved it on netflex the best
why are they cancelling this show I love it hopefully they find a new station to air it on. so let us know when and where and what night I have been looking forward to seeing It again
Just watched “Taxi Brooklyn” on Netflix, and really enjoyed it. Would really enjoy a second season.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this show!!! I too just discovered it on Netflix and had never heard of it before!! I don’t know why it was not advertised. Anyway, I am really hoping they make season 2 and keep its edginess and not like so many others that lose the fire of the show! Please, please, please…keep the show going!
I just watched Taxi Brooklyn on Netflix and loved it. The season finale was crazy! I was curious to find out when I could see Season 2 and was extremely disappointed to see it has been canceled. There were so many cliffhangers and to know I will never know what happens to everyone is just plain wrong.
Just found out about this show on netflix and started searching for more episodes only to find out it’s been cancelled …. NBC??? who do you have making these decisions.
I thought it was a kick ass show and hope to see more!!! Cat is sexy and bad Ass. Leo is a hell of a driver and a bad ass side kick
why start a show that they cannot or do not want to finish.. all it does is make viewers have some negative thoughts about the mentality of NBC
My husband and i just started to get into the show via our Roku. We like it alot and would like to see it picked up or renewed on the station. It really was funny and fun to watch even though it dealt with some serious issues, which is part of the reason we liked it so much. The episode where he gave her her license back and a car was awesome and we laughed like crazy. Bring it back, i’m so tired of watching these “reality” shows with no hint of “reality” in them it’s sickening.
I couldn’t agree with you more that the show should be renewed! It was a great and interesting show that everyone I know loved the fact that is was not gross.
Great Show , please have a second season
I loved the series on Netflicks never knew about the show earlier it is a shame that NBC did not give it the oppoortunity to find its fan base. The fan base exist as evident by all who watched on Netflickks the lack of viewing on NBC was due to poor advertisement and nurturing a relationship “fan base” takes time. NBC did not allow for closure shame on studio heads and writers I will no longer watch NBC
