The new series on FX, Terriers, has been garnering some solid reviews. But, how did it do in the ratings? Should it continue for many years or be put to sleep…er, cancelled?
Terriers follows a pair of unorthodox and unlicensed private detectives. They’ll take just about any job, no matter how small or how strange. The show stars Donal Logue, Michael Raymond-James, Kimberly Quinn, Laura Allen, Rockmond Dunbar, and Jamie Denbo.
Per the overnight ratings, the Terriers premiere looks to be underwhelming at best. The debut attracted a 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and about 1.6 million total viewers. While cable ratings are typically smaller than those of the major networks, FX has seen much better.

To put it in perspective, in September 2008, Sons of Anarchy debuted to a 1.2 rating in the key demo and 2.53 million viewers. This past March, Justified’s premiere brought in a 1.5 demo rating and 4.15 million.
Even Nip/Tuck, which had sharply declined over the years, averaged a 0.8 in the demo and 1.7 million viewers for its final season — in the same Wednesday night timeslot.
So, Terriers has gotten off to a very poor start. FX is planning to pair repeats with new installments of Sons of Anarchy. It seems doubtful but maybe this will help. Right now, it doesn’t look like Terriers will survive past its first season of 13 episodes.
But, what do you think? Is Terriers worth watching or should it be cancelled? Cancel or keep it?

Terriers is, by, far, the best thing to hit TV since “Breaking Bad.” We didn’t miss a single show; please don’t cancel this intelligent offering!!
Terriers is a terrific show! Donal Logue & Michael Raymond-James are exceptional actors and it is soooooooo refreshing to see normal looking people portraying everyday average folks. We never miss an episode and truly want to see this showed renewed for next season.
FX-Please bring Terriers back!
I love this show, love it! One of the best written shows on TV, I don’t know how it’s not killing in the ratings. PLEASE don’t cancel this show, PLEASE!!!!!
Every wednesday night my dad and I watch Terriers I love it and will be sad if it is cancelled I really hope they keep it!!! deff my favorite show!!
I love the show. I enjoy the characters and I wish FX would give it another season to expand the story line. FX likes to take chances and I would hope they would take a chance with the Terriers. I have followed Nip?Tuck, The Shield, Rescue Me, Damages (that they let go), Sons of Anarchy, and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and I loved each and every one on them. You pitted against too many new shows….give it to the summer reruns.
I love Terriers! I think it is a little different from your average detective show. I watch it every week and hope they renew for another season.
It became one of my favorites after its slow start and agree that marketing has been less than generous since the series began. Please consider it the ‘tortoise’ and give “Terriers” a chance next season. I’m one of, I’m sure, many who DVR it and watch it the next day with full delight. The characters seem plausible and I adore them all. PLEASE KEEP TERRIERS AROUND !!!!!
On behalf of my husband and I, TERRIERS is only 1 of 2 shows we look forward to every week, JUSTIFIED being the other….We dont even watch Sons of Anarchy….The shows out there have been AWFUL we have become very loyal TERRIERS fans! Donal and Michael have a very real-like friendship and the story plots are entertaining…..PLEEZE keep TERRIERS around! if they give more publicity people will see how Awsome these guys are!

Although I have to say that after the first two episodes, I was ready to stop watching, I’m glad I didn’t. This has turned out to be one of my favorite shows. Very good. I hope it is not canceled.
Terriers is a great show. The only problem with it is the way it was marketed. It’s well written and acted. Definitely worth saving

I love this show, it’s no sons of anarchy but I love it just the same! Hope FX keeps it, I love this network they have some great TV to watch and I hope they keep it up!
This show is amazing, I dont think there has ever been a show with more relatable characters. I literally get a feeling of missing the characters after an episode. I will definatly be disheartened if they cancel this show.
We love this show, and it’s a great follow up to SOA..I’ll admit, first episode we weren’t very impressed, but we gave it another try and fell in love with the characters and premise of the show. Each episode has got better and better…Please give it another season, and give it some promo….
