As you may recall, ABC started running The Assets on January 2nd but pulled the limited series after just two epipsdes had aired. Now, the network has announced that the show will be returning this summer — for a little while.
The network will start airing the remaining six episodes on Saturday, June 21st, at 9pm. Here’s the schedule:
Saturday, June 21st – “Trip to Vienna”
Saturday, June 28th – “What’s Done is Done”
Saturday, July 5th – “Check Mate”
Saturday, July 12th – “Small Useless Truth”
Saturday, July 19th – “The Straw Poll”
Saturday, July 26st – “Avenger”
The first two episodes are available for viewing online at Hulu.com.
The Assets revolves around the real life events of CIA counter-intelligence officers Sandy Grimes (Jodie Whittaker) and Jeanne Vertefeuille (Harriet Walter) and their search for the most notorious traitor in US History, Aldrich Ames (Paul Rhys). Others in the cast include Stuart Milligan, Julian Ovenden, Christina Cole, and Ralph Brown.
Update: The episodes have been rescheduled. Read the details here.
What do you think? Are you planning to watch the rest of the unaired episodes of The Assets.
I watched the first 2 episodes in Jan. and enjoyed them and was disappointed to hear
the show was cancelled. I accidentally saw that Assets was on again and have been
watching the show.
I would like to see the show continued. It is a true story and better than most other
shows on tv now.
I will watch all episodes.
I watched the first two episodes back in January and was very disappointed to learn that the show had been cancelled. Then the other day I happened to be trolling through my cable company’s on-demand offerings and saw that the show has been continued.
If they broadcast I will watch. I lived these stories.
Care to elaborate?
Would have liked more publicity about its return–missed episode 3 and just happened to notice it in the listings for tonight, episode 4. No wonder ratings are in the cellar when no one knows about it.
I thoroughly enjoyed the first 2 episodes and will watch this great show as long as it airs. Hurray to ABC for rethinking this cancellation!
Superb writing, acting and directing…abc blew it big by axing this show after two episodes…glad its back……..finally.
Great acting on a very intense show, can’t wait for next episode.
Yes I hope to follow it to the end.
me too.
yes I am looking forward to the remaining episodes.
yes yes yes
While first two episodes were somewhat plodding, third episode “Trip to Vienna” really piqued our interest. Seeing how clueless CIA and FBI were at the time, I’m not surprised Ames went undetected for so long. I don’t think ABC gave series proper time and publicity to develop audience. Fascinating story deserves to be shared with the public.
yes
Just noticed it on the TV Guide today. Really happy we get to see the rest of the series.
I will be be watching an ADULT (requiring thought and following the story line with details) TV series
I hope to watch it and am glad it is coming back. However, given the scheduled day and time, I hope that ABC will add it to their On Demand offerings.
We were very upset and even mad, when ABC cancelled Assets. It was a very refreshing, thrilling and interesting true story. Great dessision by ABC to show the rest of the episodes. However, I think they should repeat the first two episodes to refresh viewers memory.
