The end is coming for The Bonnie Hunt Show after two seasons on the air. Hosted by actress and comedian Bonnie Hunt, the Warner Bros. syndicated show has been struggling in the ratings essentially since it debuted.
The series has stayed on the air for two seasons mainly because NBC-owned stations had made a two-year deal. Warners could have pulled the plug last spring but instead showed faith and hoped that ratings would improve. Now that the agreement is coming to an end, so is The Bonnie Hunt Show.
Hunt reportedly gave the bad news to her staff on Monday morning but the cancellation wasn’t officially confirmed until last night.
By all accounts, the daytime series will remain in production and complete the season so there are lots of new episodes to come.
What do you think? Why did the show fail? Is there no room for more than a couple of daytime talk shows, like The Ellen DeGeneres Show and The Oprah Winfrey Show? Or, is there something lacking in Hunt’s show?

Are you kidding me? Bonnie’s show is one of the best shows on the air. i Its well rounded and funny. Bonnie,s staff is great. Please leave the Bonnie Hunt show on the the air.

Yet another BAD,BAD decision from NBC.
Does our opinion not count at all??
NBC, Get your heads out of your butts & listen to the people!
We love Bonnie & she should remain on the air!!
We lose far too many good shows & have to put up with the garbage that replaces them!
Warner Bros……..get your act together and keep Bonnie on the air where she belongs. This is one of the worst moves you’ve ever made!
Love the Bonnie Hunt Show. PLEASE don’t cancel. Really is by far the best daytime show on TV.
After watching Bonnie through her tenure I’ve enjoyed the format of her show. She has a warm demenor, a style so unlike her counterparts, and a wonderful interaction with the staff and with the guests on the show. I am so exhausted by the other talk shows show casing the same celebrities, vieing for their unending sameness. Bonnie is a delight that should not be cancelled.
I am so saddened to hear that this show has been canceled. I have my dvr set to record every episode. Bonnie makes me laugh like no one else can. Her shows are always uplifting, though some might have a sad subject matter.
I am truly so sad that the Bonnie Hunt Show is going off the air. She is delightful, wholesome, funny without being disgusting. I love all the segments she has including animal rescue visits, funny captions, ask Alice, kid magicians, and the warm moments at the end of each show. Her show is adorable. I have never wrote in about my opinion on anything before because I’m too busy. But that is how strongly I feel about this big mistake. I’m so sick of the networks jamming trash tv down our throats and when a good wholesome show comes on… Read more »
I am a 48 year old male, I work 3rd shift and I think The Bonnie Hunt Show is the best day time TV going! If you want to cancel something get rid of 5 or 6 of these stupid court TV shows on right now! My wife and I laugh at or with Bonnie everyday! And if I am too tired to watch I DVDR it and watch it later! Keep Bonnie Hunt on the air and let us hard working middle class Americans have something a little light hearted and funny to get us through the day! I… Read more »
I hate to hear that The Bonnie Hunt Show, is being canceled,
even though it is no longer shown in my area, NBC had the bright idea, not!
to drop it from their programming after last year.
I loved her show and watched it every day, hopefully a station with brains will pick
the show up, I can at least hope!!!!

Here I go again. I just had to write since I finished watching it on ABC today. 3 pieces of unasked for advice to anyone who has CLOUT at any of the NETWORKS-1. Select a Network and time. 2. Promote her vigorously as quick witted with great guests, and, finally 3.Write to Warner Brothers stating that she will not DISAPPOINT, because she has the ability to make people chuckle in the morning when they are depressed. That, my friend, is talent.
I have my PVR set to record The Bonnie Hunt show every day. After a crazy day at work, it is so nice to know I can hang out with Bonnie and her friends for an hour and let the day wash away. I think her show is different enough from Oprah and Ellen to stand alone. It’s more like the old Merv Griffin show, or The Johnny Carson show. Good interview skills, warmth with her guests, and most of all great humour throughout the entire show set the stage for her show daily. She has a very quick mind,… Read more »
Say it ain’t so. I love the Bonnie Hunt Show. She’s funny and down to earth (well most of the time!) I can’t believe she’s getting cancelled. This is wrong!
I love the Bonnie Hunt show and I think nbc is making another mistake by cancelling it after 2 seasons. I love Ellen and Oprah but Oprah is going away and Bonnie is a great show good comedy and great guests. Why do these stations let great shows like Bonnie go away?????? Warner Brothers is wrong – wrong – wrong.
NBC??again-This is most likely the problem. There are people watching it on Fox–NBC–and I watch it on ABC. Do you know of any other daily programs that are on 3 separate networks daily??LOL-maybe something illegal is going on or people just don’t know When or Where in the World to find Bonnie.
This is my 2nd. post, I felt this info neede to get around. I wrote to my local NBC station, which is the station Bonnie is on here. They wrote me back and said Warner Bros. is behind the cancellation. So I wrote them, haven’t heard back.
I cannot believe that they are cancelling it. I happened on this web site because I wanted to make a comment on how much I liked her show. Really, this sucks.
I agree UNBELIEVABLE!!!!! An adult show ; The public LOVES Bonnie. I also think the network should have gave the show more time. It is OUR loss
