The end is coming for The Bonnie Hunt Show after two seasons on the air. Hosted by actress and comedian Bonnie Hunt, the Warner Bros. syndicated show has been struggling in the ratings essentially since it debuted.
The series has stayed on the air for two seasons mainly because NBC-owned stations had made a two-year deal. Warners could have pulled the plug last spring but instead showed faith and hoped that ratings would improve. Now that the agreement is coming to an end, so is The Bonnie Hunt Show.
Hunt reportedly gave the bad news to her staff on Monday morning but the cancellation wasn’t officially confirmed until last night.
By all accounts, the daytime series will remain in production and complete the season so there are lots of new episodes to come.
What do you think? Why did the show fail? Is there no room for more than a couple of daytime talk shows, like The Ellen DeGeneres Show and The Oprah Winfrey Show? Or, is there something lacking in Hunt’s show?

Good Luck Bonnie!
It’s a great show. NBC is probably the stupidest network in existence. I love the Bonnie Hunt show and know a lot of people who do too.
I LOVE The Bonnie Hunt show, how sad that it has been cancelled. I used to love Ellens’s show but not anymore. I love Ellen but I think her show is just geared towards a more younger crowd, I am not into all that rap music she likes to play and I get tired of the constant games. Her show has changed and not for the better
I agree! I’m tired of Ellen’s emphasis on audience games, scaring the guests, the whirling money machine giveaways, and hip hop music. I thought it was an adult daytime talk show, not a goofy kids show! Bonnie is fresh and spontaneous at the same time as she harks back to the classy Dean Martin/Johnny Carson style.

Even my kids get a kick out of Bonnie! Hope it stays on the air!! You Rock Bonnie!! Bonnie, Bonnie, Bonnie,… Read more »
I am very upset, too. The Bonnie Hunt Show is the best Talk show on TV. It is the only show that does not have a bunch of junk. There is no arguing like some shows. Bonnie’s show only provides laughs. I have NEVER been so upset about a show being cancelled. Please help in any way you can to save the show. Here is a webpage that tells us what WE can do to help. http://thebonniehuntteam.weebly.com/index.html I do think that a big problem is the fact that it is not carried by a specific network at a specific time.… Read more »
I was shocked to learn on the internet that the Bonnie Hunt Show has been cancelled. As other viewers have expressed, Bonnie is the most ‘down to earth’ celebrity who is funny, intelligent, compassionate, and asks interesting questions of each of her guests that is informative and entertaining! AND she actually LISTENS to her guests with genuine intent and interest. She is the ‘girl next door’ whose guests who presents a diverse background of guests on her show to the delight of her fans! PLEASE somewhere out there in TV Land, save this show or some other syndicated network pick… Read more »
I just found The Bonnie Hunt Show and am now so disappointed to hear she has been cancelled. I have made it a point to be home to catch her show because it is so refreshing–I feel like Im sitting on her couch enjoying her company. What a loss in an already vast wasteland of soap operas reality shows and the garbage out there passing as entertainment.
I am so disappointed. The Bonnie Hunt Show is one of my favorites. What could possibly replace such quality entertainment? The execs sure messed up this one. Maybe if they would spend some monies on promoting the show, people would show up to watch.
That stinks!!! I love her show and I love her mom! Please don’t cancel it, cancel some of the stupid soaps like, days of our lives, we need good entertainment for those of us that are home during the day, I looked forward to her show, please put a talk show in her place if you have to, don’t do another dumb game show or soap. DONT CANCEl BONNIE PLEASE!!!
I really look forward to watching the Bonnie Hunt show each afternoon. When she`gone there will be nothing worth watching in that time slot. I get the show on NBC in Chicago and will not be watching any other programs in that time slot, instead I`ll play solitare on my computer.
I’m saddened to hear that The Bonnie Hunt Show has been canceled. There’s no political agenda; she’s just a funny lady with mid-western values. Her mother is hysterical! I don’t care for Oprah anymore — too serious. Ellen is good, but has lost her natural relaxed feeling. I hope NBC reconsiders!
I was very dissapointed to hear that The Bonnie Hunt show will end after this season. I enjoy her show more than any talk show on the air. She is an intelligent quick witted talent who appeals to Jane and John America. She asks the questions that us regular folk want to hear. I have to hope that this is only the beginning of something better for Miss Hunt. She deserves to be in prime time where everyone can see the true talent she and for that matter her crew bring to the air. This is truely a poor move… Read more »
I can not believe the bonnie hunt show has been cancelled. Again NBC makes another mistake. It is such a pleasure to watch a show, and your blood pressure does not go up. I hate things like the view, but they just seem to go on and on. Bonnie your great, do not let this get you down. You will go on to something better. Your the best! Thanks for the laughs. Lee
I am so disappointed to find out that this show has been canceled. Bonnie is a genuinely classy lady, providing entertainment that is relevant yet funny for the whole family. The questions she asks her guests aren’t those typically asked by every other talk show host out there. She keeps things down-to-earth with such segments as “Ask Alice,” yet interesting and funny with the weekly photo caption contests. She’s clean, she’s natural, she’s everything that the others aren’t. For once, NBC had shown an iota of intelligence by picking up The Bonnie Hunt Show, but now they’re falling back into… Read more »
Here we go with the NBC again. Just to let everyone know again, this show is carried on Fox, NBC, and I view it at 9AM on ABC. This displays some of the reasons that no one knows exactly where to find her. I’m done being informative. I think a slight bit of sarcasm is called for now. There is no one writing here saying-Hurrah-Bonnie is Gone. Does that tell anyone anything? I imagine we should replace her with CSI PITTSBURGH-WATCHA THINK????
