The end is coming for The Bonnie Hunt Show after two seasons on the air. Hosted by actress and comedian Bonnie Hunt, the Warner Bros. syndicated show has been struggling in the ratings essentially since it debuted.
The series has stayed on the air for two seasons mainly because NBC-owned stations had made a two-year deal. Warners could have pulled the plug last spring but instead showed faith and hoped that ratings would improve. Now that the agreement is coming to an end, so is The Bonnie Hunt Show.
Hunt reportedly gave the bad news to her staff on Monday morning but the cancellation wasn’t officially confirmed until last night.
By all accounts, the daytime series will remain in production and complete the season so there are lots of new episodes to come.
What do you think? Why did the show fail? Is there no room for more than a couple of daytime talk shows, like The Ellen DeGeneres Show and The Oprah Winfrey Show? Or, is there something lacking in Hunt’s show?

I am extremely disappointed that Bonnie Hunt’s show has been cancelled. Bonnie is one of the most down to earth, genuine, funny ladies in the business. I believe that the noon hour was not a good slot for her show and didn’t allow the show to be viewed be a larger number of fans, nor did it give others, not familiar with Bonnie Hunt, an opportunity to get to know and love her. Most people are working. Most people viewing weekdays at noon are busy taking care of children, running erands, retired watcing game shows or soaps. Bonnie is an… Read more »
I can’t believe this show was cancelled!! Bonnie was so funny and real and I loved her staff!! I turned on the t.v. to watch her and Matlock was on. Are you kidding me?? How old is Matlock?? Please put Bonnie back on, Why are all the good shows being cancelled??
The Bonnie Hunt show was the Best—-even my husband enjoyed it!! The View
came on after her show, and it was immediately tuned OFF! I hope that some
intelligent network will listen to the people and give her another chance to keep
us happy and watching….I miss my ten oclock Happy Hour~~~I’m not going to
watch Oprah reruns……
I LOVE THAT SHOW!!! BONNIE HUNT IS FUNNY, KIND AND THE SHOW IS GREAT!!!! BRING THE SHOW BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will miss watching the Bonnie Hunt Show. She loves her family, her audience, her staff and all the animals. I thoroughly enjoy her humor and wit. Bonnie also gives her best buddies a place to work, create and laugh. I wish I could work with her, instead…well, I’m thankful to be working, let’s leave it at that.
Please would a cable network, pick-up her show! I want the show to continue. With all the TRASH on tv, this show is so much fun. We will tape ithe show anytime it shows.
I wish someone was listening.
Think about it?????
I agree with all of the comments above. Bonnie had a really good and really funny show. I’m sure that we are now going to have an other judge or doctor show like we need a hole in our heads so please just put Bonnie and her gang back on PLEASE and THANK YOU.
I am so sorry your show has ended. It seems like all the good clean entertainment
does not last. Everyone wants to see junk, and it is sad. Bonnie Hunt had a clean
holsom show and her staff were great people. To the network, put some more judge
shows on, to show how stupid the american people are. BRING BACK BONNIE!
I cannot believe that this show was cancelled, in my opinion it was the best talk show on the air. It was refreshing to see someone as true to her heart, appreciative of what she had accomplished & so kind to all her staff, guests & loyal fans. I am very suprised that the network didn’t try another time slot to show others what a wonderful show she had put on. She seemed to be the closest thing to a ‘Johhny Carson’ show that I have ever seen, if not better. I think this was a big mistake to cancel… Read more »
I’m sad to see her go. I loved the show because she was kind and funny.
Bonnie Hunt show goes, Ellen Degeneres stays ? HUMBUG, WOE IS ME,etc.
I was saddened to learn that The Bonnie Hunt Show was not going to be continuing. Every day at 12:00 I knew that I could watch her and be entertained and uplifted. She is one of the most down to earth people on TV right now. It figures that someone so good would be cancelled…who wants a nice, classy woman on TV when there could be a cat fight or some such thing on.? It makes you realize why the youth of our country are heading in the direction that they are…
I am SO sad and angry that the show has been cancelled. Today is the first day that Oprah has taken her spot. Even though I do like Oprah…..I need my BH show!!!! She is just what this world needs, humor, compassion, honesty….she is a REAL person, as is her entire STAFF!!! Bring the show back!!
THIS JUST CONFIRMS MY THEORY THAT GOOD DECENT PROGRAMS ARE OUT-
BONNIE HUNT COMES ACROSS AS THE WARMEST, AND MOST DECENT PERSON AVAILABLE ON TELEVISION TODAY. YIU CIULD WATCH HER SHOW FOR A YEAR AND NEVER HEAR ANYTHING NEGATIVE, AND HER LOVE FOR ANIMALS IS GENUINE. I GUESS TV WOULD RATHER SHOW THINGS LIKE PEOPLE ENDANGERING THEMSELVES AND OTHERS THROUGH CRAZY STUNTS.
I WAS SHOCKED TO HEAR SHE IS BEING CANCELED. I HOPE OXYGEN, OR ANOTHER NETWORK WILL HIVE HER A CHANCE.
The other talk shows could not compete with Bonnie. It was like a great big family and so easy going and down home.
I miss Bonnie like crazy. She is real and compassionate and funny; the whole crew is. I see that Oprah is taking her time slot. That’s a bunch of bull. I’ll take Bonnie over O any day.
