TV show description:
This comedy series is loosely based on the family of its star and co-creator, comic Jerrod Carmichael.
Jerrod Carmichael (Carmichael) and his therapist in-training girlfriend, Maxine (Amber Stevens West), are an average young couple trying to make it in the city. They’re taking the next step in their relationship and are moving in together. They’re smart, motivated and looking to build a fulfilling life together.
The only thing standing in their way is his family — larger-than-life brother, ever-hustling Bobby (Lil Rel Howery); loud, proud and Christian mother, Cynthia (Loretta Devine); and outspoken and contrarian father, Joe (David Alan Grier).
Jerrod and Maxine are put to the test navigating the boundaries of romance, family and sanity.
Episode #32 — Gold Diggers
When Bobby brings home his new girlfriend, a debate about the effects of money ensues that uncovers something about Maxine’s financial situation that Jerrod never knew and doesn’t know if he can handle.
First aired: August 9, 2017.
What do you think? Do you like The Carmichael Show TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season?
Renew, renew, renew!!!! It is current, thought provoking, and funny!
Good shows aren’t given the publicity or a chance but crap on tv lasts for years.
I love this show. It is different and laugh out loud funny!
The Carmichael Shoe is one I caught this summer. It is terrific & should be renewed & given the hype to get folks to start watching. Funniest comedy in a long time!!!!!!!!!!
The Carmichael Show is a program my family look forward to viewing on
Wednesday nights. It’s very entertaining and we enjoy it very much.
Please reconsider the decision of the cancelling this show. Give it
a chance to find its audience.
This is a funny show dealing with real issues. The chemistry among the characters is strong. The writing is very well done. There are so few comedies able to span the generations , I do hope someone in authority will reconsider the decision to cancel the program.
Please do not cancel this show! Perhaps an all-African American cast is scary for some, but the hilarious yet sensitive manner in the way very serious issues were handled was so timely. “Blackish” from another network gets rave reviews, but it has a few Caucasians in the cast yet still deals with the same issues with humor. Hmm. Let’s get real here!
I so love the show!!! I will have to say that Maxine needs to pull back a little. She makes me sick. She is way too much. I also have to say that the Intervention Episode was very good but did not like or agree with the STUPID message that Jerrod gave at the end. You got to be kidding me. I love the whole cast except for Maxine.
Absolutely terrific show. Intelligent, humorous, great cast. It’s a pity NBC horror and violent shows instead of shows like this one. Maybe they will change their minds.
My family and I love the show. The writers handle serious issues in a way that is intelligently balanced while still being humorous. There are no other contemporary shows that are as well written.
This show is one of the best on TV. It handles controversial topics in a comedic way but gets the message across. I am very disappointed that NBC has chosen to cancel it.
I’m hoping Fox will pick it up because they let it all hang outon their channel LOL
I love this show. I’m laughing tears almost every episode. Hate that NBC is cancelling it!
love this show please don’t cancel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I absolutely love this show. My kids and I can watch it together. The show is funny and presents real life issues.
My cousin told me about this show. The first show I am bindge watching. LOVE IT. The morning after pill show is my fav so far.
This show is “real”. Please keep it airing.
