If you’ve been looking forward to watching The Code TV show on CBS this Monday night, you’re going to be disappointed. The network has pulled the drama series from the schedule. Will it back? Has it been cancelled?
A military legal drama, The Code stars Luke Mitchell, Anna Wood, Ato Essandoh, Phillipa Soo, Dana Delany, and Raffi Barsoumian. The story unfolds at the Judge Advocate General Headquarters in Quantico, Virginia and centers on the prosecutors, defense lawyers, and investigators who work on the legal challenges facing the U.S. Marine Corps.
The first season of The Code debuted in April drew pretty low ratings, right from the start. The eight aired episodes have averaged a 0.57 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 5.10 million viewers in the live + same day ratings. It’s one of CBS’ lowest-rated scripted shows of the 2018-19 season.
The Code has been pulled from the schedule and will, for the immediate future, be replaced by reruns of Magnum PI. Right now, the plan is for The Code to return on Monday, July 1st, but those plans could change.
While The Code hasn’t been officially cancelled yet, CBS pulling the series from the schedule certainly points in that direction. Some of the series’ small audience will get out of the habit of watching the program and the first week in July is traditionally one of the lowest-watched weeks of television. The ratings for the next episode will be much lower than they have been.
If there was any hope of The Code surviving to see a second season, I think this move makes it clear that CBS has given up on the series.
What do you think? Do you like The Code TV show? Do you think it will be cancelled? Would you watch season two?
Don’t cancel The Code!!! Great show! My new favorite show!! Give it a chance!
Give it a chance. Very good show.
Well THAT SUCKS!!!! I just got into this show and LOVE IT!!! Why do they always pull shows right when people start liking it. Sometimes it takes a while for people to bond with the characters or to really get a feel for the show!!! Sheeesh….. I’m totally bummed now! Just finished binging it and now it’s done
Loved this show… needs a lot more exposure.
My husband and I watch The Code and would like to see Season 1 resume. We would also watch additional seasons.
Code is an excellent show. I found the more episodes the better the show. A show I looked forward to.
The show Title is very misleading and we have mentioned it to people who never heard of it or passed it just because they figured it was about nerds into code breaking. Having watched thought it was good, “For Military Justice” or “The Case For Military Justice” seems far better titles.
Really CBS? You haven’t even given The Code a chance. This is a great show, very well written. Don’t cancel this show. We need more intelligent shows like this.
Very good show. Might need more time to get a bigger following. Give it a chance.
It is a great show albeit a spin-off of JAG. Hope they revive it.
As some people that have posted has already state, The Code is a well acted and well written show and deserves a chance. I am so disappointed that CBS refuses to even try.
I was always looking forward to watching The Code. I am so disappointed in CBS. These networks cancel shows on a whim and don’t care about the public who actually likes the show. This is the 5th good show canceled this season. As some people on here has already said, The Code is a well written, well acted show and I am very disappointed in the powers that be in CBS!
I will be disappointed if it doesn’t return as it is difficult to find intelligent and interesting shows.
If you cancel this but then air yet another season of Big Brother House I may never watch CBS again. Ever.
I enjoy this show very much. Will be greatly disappointed if it is cancelled! Great relationships and interactions between cast members.
