The CW’s The Flash is the most-anticipated new series of the season but TV shows about superheroes don’t have a great track record on television. Will The Flash be a ratings smash for the network or will it fizzle? Cancelled or renewed for a second season? Stay tuned.
Based on the DC Comics series, The Flash revolves around a young police scientist who’s struck by lightning in a freak accident. He awakens from a nine month coma to find that he has super speed and decides to use his abilities as a masked hero. The show stars Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Danielle Panabaker, Rick Cosnett, Carlos Valdes, Tom Cavanagh, and Jesse L. Martin.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — typically the following morning, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
1/11 update: The Flash and seven other shows have been renewed for the 2015-16 season.
Final season averages: 1.44 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 3.84 million total viewers.

Due to a Nielsen glitch, some of the early ratings of the 2014-15 season were revised a few weeks later.
These are the final national numbers (unless noted with an “*”). These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like The Flash TV show? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?

Episode 15 of The Flash should have been titled EPIPHANY because it was the best offering of the show, to date. The writers hit a grand slam and ran the bases, triumphantly, providing non stop action and eye popping story twists and turns. WestAllen development did not disappoint and the anxiously awaited KISS shared by Barry and Iris was magical! The chemistry Grant Gustin and Candice Patton share, in character, is indisputable and it tugs at the heartstrings, addictively. If the rest of the season is as good as tonight was, Flash Fans are in for a fun ride. If… Read more »
I just got into this show yesterday and it seems like the show got cancelled before the first season even ended. Too bad, I was really enjoying it.
The Flash WestAllen Fandom has one of the most intelligently organized machines in operation, and includes ardent participants from several continents. Today, 03/03/2015 saw another example of a “Worldwide Twitter Trend,” this time for Rick Cosnett, who plays Dectective Eddie Thawne on the show. This fandom is a force, with which to be reckoned, and it has strong views about the ethical and socially acceptable treatment of cast members and their characterizations. There is no fear when it comes to communicating astutely and insightfully, with writers, producers and TV executives, and this group will not be bullied or cajoled into… Read more »
it should be renewed. it is a great family show
it is a good show, don’t cancel it
A tremendous opportunity to increase its fan base, in various demographics, has been sadly squandered by The Flash powers that be, for whatever reasons. Moving the character of Iris West to the back burner of the show and systematically lessening the importance of her presence, especially with regard to the lack of a meaningful relationship with her father, Joe West, has resulted in a laughably embarrassing reminder that daughters do not count in Flashland. “Do you have a daughter, Joe ?” is now an oft repeated mantra on Tumblr and Twitter. Oddly, Joe and Barry are almost homo-erotically close, as… Read more »
Looks like the long awaited, vehemently requested promotion featuring the sadly marginalized Iris West paid off. Her fans hoped to see more of her, in the last episode, and her story line developed. Oh well…… Will those fans who so strongly support Candice Patton, as Iris West, be tricked again into watching Joe and Barry, Caitlin and Barry, Wells and Barry, Cisco and Barry, Linda and Barry……everyone but Iris and Barry? Will writers and producers ever acknowledge all the wonderful free publicity they receive as Twitter and Tumblr erupt, every week, in support of Iris West and Candice Patton? Will… Read more »
Can someone explain to me how come The Flash doesn’t have more ratings than that, considering all the hype, popularity and success it has at the moment? I’ve noticed the same thing with every successful CW shows; the ratings never get pass 5 millions views.
I absolutely love the show! It keeps getting bigger and better. The only episodes of the season so far that felt like a let down to me are 1×12 Crazy for You (because of Barry, Caitlin and Iris) and 1×10 Revenge of the Rogues (mostly because of the Rogues). These two episodes were messy when it comes to the portrayal of these characters. Had Ronnie, not been around, I always thought that Snowbarry would be plausible considering the circumstances, but in 1×12, it felt out of place. As for Iris, I’m afraid that my worries are becoming true; In a… Read more »
I was very disappointed in episode 12 of The Flash. I see no reason to continue watching the show. What kind of writers spew forth such indigestible tripe?
Will not continue to watch The Flash. Some of the writing is questionable and attempts to pander to certain demographics. The idea of a STUD Barry, with numerous female quests is unpalatable, and the continued absence of Iris in promotional material (except for a few still photos) is unacceptable and uncalled for treatment of a lead actress. The show is often juvenile and silly. Whatever promise it exhibited has been decimated by attempts to appease too many viewers and “shippers” who cannot tolerate the idea of the show’s concept of Barry and Iris. Is racism rearing its ugly head once… Read more »
I have a lot of favorite shows on the cw network all of the shows I like on cw people don’t like them
what?? This is a fun science fiction/superhero show.
I don’t think it’s the same as in Bones, Castle, etc. where they literally spent seasons and seasons teasing viewers about whether or not the leads would finally get together. I think it’d be weird for Barry and Iris to get together anytime soon. She’s seen him as nothing more than a best friend all of her life. It’s going to take more than him saying “hey, I have feelings for you” for her to develop or realize her own feelings and weigh that against how she feels about Eddie. Right now, there’s a pretty good ratio of Barry (personal):… Read more »
Yes, I just said this to a friend, they are turning Barry into a player to please these shipping fans and it will make the ratings drop more, they are catering to snowbarry fans and they’re not a lot of them compared to the westallen fans, so the show has been dropping because of this whole stupid shipping war and not proper writing and development of other characters. I like the show but I knew it would get ruined at some point because now the have this loveable superhero falling for every woman he talks to while saying one is… Read more »
awesome…the flash super good and i love it DC was looking for flashbacks on what happen before the flash got started. Flashbacks are very interesting and a little weird because Cisco was a kid back then and his Captain taught him everything to know about the secret room at S.T.A.R Labs
I’m hooked on The Flash. The drama is doing something Person of Interest used to do and Sleepy Hollow does not want to do.
Thank you Flash writers for providing inviting and engrossing entertainment which maximizes the talents of the cast. The show is “must watch TV” and it is fun!
Looking forward to future episodes and many seasons.
I am unable to get CW on my direct tv service so I have to watch the flash on wednesdays the day after. I really enjoy the series and hope you will keep it on or at least webcast it.
its a good show…….
I actually really love this series! I hope it will do good enough to have a second season its that good really! I like it better than arrow. I think this series got to the point fast and keeps your attention. I was always a fan of the Flash in the comic world as well and glad to see that they are doing a good job with his story. The cgi is really good on it as well as the acting. I say go flash and keep on Running on to a second and third and so on seasons. I… Read more »
If was not for The Flash or Arrow, I would
